Hey! I'm Erin Payne - excited first-time mother, sunshine lover, & Florida native. I enjoy my love of making our house into a home, sustainable living habits, & living our lives on the coast of beautiful Florida. I love sharing my life passions with the world and cannot wait to explore motherhood!
This is an excellent video, but I do want to let you know that you are getting no extra benefit by using more than half a cup of detergent. People underestimate just how powerful the cleaning agents are and using too much detergent can actually cause issues for your washer if it is unable to fully rinse the detergent. You can end up with build up on the inside of your machine's equipment.
When they say “stay at home mom” they mean a mom who still has someone to watch their babies while they are working by their laptops, creating videos etc. so this video was not really helpful cause I am a stay at home mom whose baby is still too small for playing unsupervised and have nobody to watch while I go use br.
My income streams were mainly built up during nap times and after my daughter went to sleep. Once my daughter turned one, I did feel more comfortable having her grandparents take her for a morning here and there so that I could get more solid chunks of work done. Now that I just had my second baby, “work” has pretty much come to a stand-still. It’s all been about figuring out how to make it work so that we DONT have to pay for childcare. But you’re right. You can’t get any at-home work done when you are actively being mama.
"I can relate to her. We manage content creation during nap times. We have our own way of managing things. You don't know a lot goes on behind the scenes."
Thank you! I had a product I wasn't entirely happy about before, and gave up on this project. Now back on it again. It was great seeing it come together this way, and you had some ideas i'd never considered. I have some more thoughts to share with anyone who reads this... Light: I love that you used amber bottles. And that you mentioned that you have your spices right at the window. My research indicates it's only direct sunlight you need to worry about, and for your case, totally valid with amber. Mine won't be in direct sunlight, so I'm leaning towards clear glass, but I'll take a peak at amber offerings. Food Safe: I recommend using everything food safe. I wouldn't worry about the glass, but plastics and metals, if you don't know what you're doing, error on food safe products. There is food safe 3d printing plastics (but not all 3d print plastics are). And there is food safe silicone spray you could use for the food touching side of the magnet, and possibly inner lid jar. Practicality: Great point at the hex jars looking great together, but being a pain to pick apart. no reason you couldn't space them out like round jars, but good to set the expectation not to count on keeping perfectly fitting geometric containers touching. Size: Totally agree with you on ideal size. I'm hopping to find ones 1/3 - 1 cup in size, at least as round as tall, preferably more round than tall. Ikea had the ones I tried before, but they don't carry them any more, and those weren't air tight (thought I'm thinking with food grade silicone spray, maybe they could be). Amazon, Container store, or mason jars (from anywhere) is what I'm mostly considering. Great thoughts about candle jars too! I think container store had some good sized jars that were for something unrelated, but still want to consider food safe. Labels: Love the label maker look. You could also get stickers. Or also, there are these spray printers now that you run over a surface, and they ink them up. There are even ones you can "ink" up with food safe "ink". But food safe wouldn't be a concern here. I personally will go with hand writing in black or white. I did some tests, and I like the imperfection and personality of it. But all these are great options. OK, no questions there, just spitting out thoughts in case the brain storming helps anyone.
I just found you through an Outschool Facebook Ad for your Outschool Procreate class. I wish you would consider taking your classes to Skillshare, another online teaching platform for all ages. I would love to take your Procreate and RU-vid classes!❤
I used taking cara babies when my son was 8 months and wished I would have done it sooner. He is a much better sleeper and napper and it helped out sooooo much. Great video! It nice to hear your experience with it. ❤❤
I tried the silicone breast milk bags and it always made my breast milk smell so bad. Almost like an old plastic smell. And they were so hard for me to get clean cause they always smells like spoiled milk no matter how much i washed them.
Compression socks aid in proper circulation and help with swelling. Recommended for pregnant people to "prevent and/or treat venous edema, venous thromboembolism and varicose veins.", according to the NIH.
Thanks for the update video! I found your birth vlog a few days ago. I'm currently 18 weeks with my first and loving your pregnancy/baby content. ☺ What I've started doing is only buying maternity wear through second-hand sites! There's such a community for it over here in Germany and I love the idea that these clothes will continue to be worn and passed down. I only bought one pair of maternity jeans and one pair of overalls, so I know I'll have to sell them when I'm done having kids. But the rest are dresses that will serve me postpartum too. 😊
I don’t know if they’re meant for anything additional but compression socks helped me a lot when I had a lot of swelling in my legs and ankles. However, they also kind of hurt to wear after like 30 mins. I didn’t like them personally.
Your video is definitely the most helpful postpartum video I have seen! And I have watched many! I appreciate how real you were with the details of in hospital healing, post hospital, and all that included for you. I’m giving birth next week and am so excited! Post parting definitely makes me more nervous than the actual birth haha so hearing your experience helps tremendously.
Welcome back! Thank you for not making your kids the focus of your channel. IMO it is ok for the children to be in the background or filmed from the back or blurred. We don't need to know their medical needs or where they go to school. I have even seen vloggers that give their kids fake names or internet names. IMO we don't need their names at all. I think it is ok to show as a small small baby as they change so much but by 6 months they look like a child and IMO their face should be blurred or not shown. Can't wait to meet the new one! CONGRATULATIONS!
Thanks for sharing your process, this is helpful! Do you typically pre-adjust the riser snaps before inserting the liners, or after you insert the liners?
I don't have any kids, but this video is adorable. My niece's cousin is doing this and I think it adorable. Cute video. Learning everyday. Thank you. Erin Payne, you're a good mama. Your baby and cat are just too cute. Beautiful family. Thank you for sharing.
I got it off of Amazon but I can’t find it in my orders anymore! 😢 I know so annoying because it really is the perfect size. But the opening is 12x10 inches and it’s 7 inches tall
PLZ you are automatically saving $1,000-2,000 a month PLUS a happier child that doesn’t feel abandoned at daycare all day... priceless You are a Chief You are a driver You are a baby nurturer You are a fulltime wife You are a housekeeper Being a Mother - is enough contribution - if you give it your all. Children and Husbands are hardwork already but its awesome that you make the time to bring in additional income to save inc.
You just don't change their diaper! Typically if they aren't waking up as much at night and aren't having feeding throughout the night, they don't soil their diaper as much. We do of course still have situations where she's peed through her diaper in the night, but it's not as much as you would think!
In my head, i figured id keep a bucket with water, baking soda n vinegar, rinse the diapers n put it in the bucket until ready for wash..in about 3 days... is this doable?
Baking soda and vinegar together will “cancel” each other out, making salt water. Most diaper companies recommend against soaking diapers because the elastics will degrade faster. You also have to be very careful with little kiddos wandering around that they don’t have access to the bucket because it only takes an inch or two of water to drown. I’ve never found soaking to be necessary. Your best friend is airflow. The more air your diapers get the less they’ll smell. And sunshine! Gets stains out like magic. Although diapers can be stained while still being clean, sunning is more for looks than cleanliness. Solid food poop often stains but after washing they’ll smell totally fresh.
hi erin! thanks for posting this video!!! super inspiring me as a first time mama and trying to organize my sweet baby's stuff! super helpful and inspiring, thanks! :D
