I've had 3 pumas and want a 4th. Amazing cars, but good examples are ramping up in price. Perfect blend of nimble steering and eager engine. My last project had so many parts from Lightning Motorsport too. Fantastic company and really knows his stuff. Hats off to Sam for going the turbo route. Mind you, after hearing ITB's on a Puma conversion Fiesta at OC Motorsport - I still want to go that down that road on my next puma. Even though I know performance wise it won't be anything like what a forced induction 1.7 is capable of.
What makes you think I/the owner is full of shit? Why would i or the owner need to lie about figures? 300bhp is easily achievable on the TVS900 set up, that added with shorter pulleys, watermeth etc theres no reason why you can’t achieve more but you are right in some ways as this mini is now up to 333BHP if you don’t believe the power its running then join us at a track day we’re at blyton in two weeks time and at donnington on the 28th July, it will be good to see you 😊🤙🏼
I have very similar plans for my 1.6 puma, but I'm wondering if I can work with the 1.6 engine or if I should consider an engine swap to the 1.7 engine. And also, a few questions as to how to turboboost my puma: - Where in the engine compartment did Sam manage to place the turbo (on 1 of the sides of the engine, in front/behind engine,...)? - Which modifications where used/needed in order to withstand the 300+ bhp power (camshaft, torque converter, clutch, gearbox, ...)? Yes I know it's been discussed in the video but I couldn't understand all dialogue & it's easier to see it written down than just hearing it - Was it necessary to remove the catalytic converter, and which modifications where needed in terms of exhaust? - Is the ECU self-programmed, and if not, which expertise did Sam count on to reprogram the ECU? I hope to get a somewhat technical and clear explanation of this since I've had similar plans for a big while and I'm just stuck as to how to do all this 😅 Big thanks in advance and have a great day! Very nice car with top aftermarket choices. I am impressed about the 4pots though, didn't think they could fit. Are spacers necessary? Is it safe to assume that every 4pot could fit these stock wheels if the brake disc is less than 330mm diameter? Thanks.
Agreed! I don’t actually know it was last dyno’d 2 years ago at 300bhp alots been done since so maybe 320-330..... but currently saving for forging and hybrid turbo and hoping for about 400-420
@@lastexile1187 I already have water meth and my engine rebuild is consisting of stage 2 newman cams and slapping in 340lph fuel pump with 550cc injectors so hopefully fingers crossed i can break into the 400s! Just for the turbo is 2000 thats without sensors etc so I couldn’t be bothered to be honest 😂
@@revdt.v6834 fair play. Sabre can map them to ~410hp with their 400RS turbo, meth and cams. Turbos are about £1300 and mapping is about £600 IIRC. They mapped mine and its mint. Best mk2 st and rs tuner in the uk.

Just a suggestion, I tried to search for this on utube to show a friend just now, if I type in turbo puma this video does not show up. But i remembered it had sam's name in it so searched sam puma. If you put the tags in turbo puma i think it will become easier to find :)

It would get it some more views, With my videos I ad many many options so "turbo puma" "turbo" "puma" or in my case "supercharged" haha Utube is a bit of a pain but i just add as many as possible and it seems to work. I do however put supercharged in the title so that may help too?
