Hey RU-vidrs follow me as I go to auctions near Cincinnati/Dayton and surrounding areas. Watch my video's as I go to auctions, and wait till the end to see what I bought and am selling on Ebay. Https://www.ebay.com/str/cincinnatifan1980. Subscribe to my channel to see items at the auctions, what I have won as well as the insane prices I got them for.
Yes, it was. I'm not a fan of buying dolls as I normally don't do the greatest at selling them. My mom keeps buying them for me. Here recently there is this young man that has been going to auctions and toys are all he buys. I'm talking he spend minium 3 to 4 thousand each one. The last one I went to he bought a comic book for 2200 lol.
I think they were just looking for a reason to lay me off because of the situation he caused to save his job. My ex boss was demoted because of it and another issue. From my boss and his boss it was a decision above them that they didn't want me to go. Out of 9 guys I was top 3 for making the company profit and he was towards the bottom lol.
Can't profit of the company from garbage. I get products or company paperwork but actual garbage is a corporations wasteful ways. funny that the it person cant figure out your toolbar usage vs your time on the internet on the job. Back to doing a career in person and being agile. Well, being self employed and maybe moonlight somewhere part time is a way better option for your mindset and morals vs corporations of bs and politics. On to the next chapter you go.
That 7-up glass was how they marketed it back in the early 80's if I remember correctly. Also, if you pickup cast iron skillets for under $10 a piece, you can make some serious bang. But look for the popular collectible brands.
This is a lot of fun. However, any auction that has everything laid out like a garage sale. It has already been picked clean. Otherwise, you pay too much for resale. Skip these and go to the dirty haul outs or find an auctioneer that takes a lot of consigments for a low fee.
I wouldnt say all are picked clean but alot of the workers know the worth of items as well as they are allowed to bid too. There are certain auctioneers I go to because of that reason. Yesterday I did a consignment auction, I feel those areva hit or miss as well because so of those are people that are trying to see their items elsewhere and had no luck.
So I do both. I show what it sells for as well as what I have it listed for. I do both to show people what you "could" sell it for as well as what I did. Alot of youtubers like you said post a video less then a week after going out. Like I had mentioned I'm months behind so I am able to show items that do sell.
Why not wait to do a video after you sell or flip what you picked up. You tube is full of people saying what you could and should do. Very few people are showing actual profit. Just speculating about it.
Well I did that for awhile and I was 8 months behind on videos, at the moment I am 4 months behind. So while I could do that not everything sells. Sometimes it takes months or even years too. I dont want to get to far behind on videos as then its harder to go back and find the items i do sell. Thank you for your input though.
What a tool pick tru everything buy nothing i see people in grocery stores handling everything and put it back ick your kind that must handle everything makes me sick, bet you played with toys in toystore middle of isle with like 10 toys. get a good deal oh i missed the classy tattoos roflmao
I have stayed away for auctions that are using Hibid as well as holding it live. Items get bid way too high, and you honestly don't know the condition of what you're getting bidding online.
I grew up around flea markets and auctions my whole life. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. And with these generation gaps. The stuff we valued just isn't worth anything anymore the new crowd don't care about it. Just how it is.
I re watched the video and never heard myself or anyone say Bang but Bengals lol? As long as no one is saying Bungals should be good however someone pronounces it lol.
Thank you for answering me. I myself have been in this business for over 50 years. From Swapmeets, Auctions (buying & selling & and working them), Ebay (since the begining/ Power seller), Estate sales (buying & handling), yardsales ( both ends), and selling at Major Shows and Antique swaps. I have never had an online following but have many 'repeat customer' sales. I was a 'private buyer' for Major Meseums and have worked the Antiques Roadshow (American version). Good luck with your endeavors, life has been great to me in the field of Antiques & Collectibles. God bless, John
You need to slow down a bit. The sideways movement is kinda hard to watch. More narrative would be helpful. Maybe take an example of the 'Commonwealth pickers' videos (constructive criticism) Just saying. Thanks 🙂
Hey John, I follow Kevin lol. So the reason I dont say much is it is in a auction and there are always people around me. I have been doing estate auctions for 20 plus years and people listen to every word you say to take advantage of getting a item. So I dont say much because of that not trying to give someone else a leg up. As far as going fast sometimes I do sorry but there is so many items that I would have a hour plus video and sure no one would want to watch that long. I will try to slow down a bit. Thank you for the constructive criticism sir.
@@rippingandflippingcards4135 How are you looking it up, as I just looked it up and one just sold for 873 with 41 bids and the next one was sold by Kruk cards for 749.99?
Since making the video I built an addition on the pole barn (I have a video of it) and then had to buy pallet rack and store a bunch of bins on it. At the moment its almost full and we are not into summer yet lol.
I'm thinking the guy on Ebay scammed you. He clearly saw all photos of the box and of the truck before he purchased it? And probably knew you wouldn't eat the shipping to have him send it back to you.. people SUCK
Just noticed two National Mazda Lamps for sale on eBay like the one at 4:43. Didn't see any in sold items, but the two currently for sale were $2,800 (similar condition) & the other is $6,200 (like new or restored & a different color). Wow! I wonder how much the one in this video was?
Yes that piece lol. I planned on trying to bid on that. It was sold as is as it would not light up and the bid was over 1,500. We couldnt believe why it was going for that much. But you telling me makes sense now.
I have a HUGE set, I guess you could say. LENOX HOLLY PATTERN CHRISTMAS PLATES, BOWLS, GLASSES, WINE GLASSES, CUTLERY(spoons, future, butter knives) SERVING TRAYS/PLATTERS ETC.... that I'd like to sell. How do I go about it or do you know someone who would buy it all?? Not trying to get rich just get rid of it before they get ruined or broken
What I do is if I dont know the name of the item, I do a google search to get a better idea. Then I look on ebay and see sold comps. For me if shipping and ebay fees kill my profit then I will just store it in boxes till I have a garage sale. I bought a bunch of Lenox light houses for a dollar each ha. and some sold for 25 to 65. Had some that we worth 10 and I just put them in the garage sale. I hope that helps.
Hmmmm ok . Would Facebook marketplace be a place where I might be able to sell it all at once ??? I looked up some of the items and they sell from $35 a plate up to $150 a platter.. I figure if it's all sold individually, then it is worth around $2,500-$4,000. It's a beautiful set.
@@Mike-qt7xd I only do big items on Facebook and its a very little. I get a alot of scammers and people that dont show up so I personally try and stay away because of that. Did you look at sold comps for sold ?
Nice finds I'm sure the licence plates went for a lot and the rims I have a huge collection of antique plates and rims for vintage cars and trucks I build/restore and my customers want plates with date of same year as car and depending on year I sell them for $20-$1,000 each they are very $$ and the rims OEM ones and full set from the 20's-30's think they are for a rio or dodge brothers can be few hundred each and double for set but sure you know that and they sold for more that resale value great finds tho
JOSTENS: A company that suckers high school students in spending tons of money on WORTHLESS high school RINGS. Kids-if you're reading this - don't waste your money on one of those. Save your money.
@@leaveittojohn - Yeah...Jostens - biggest SCAM in existence. I still have mine ....and I"m looking to find some way to get rid of it and GET SOME money back. Ebay is filled with them. To all those reading this - DON'T BUY THOSE DAMN things and SAVE the money for college BILLS INSTEAD!
As a collector that's a better haul than a reseller. The packs can be sold at a garage sale for 50 cents a pack. Kids will eat them up and parents will be more likely to buy them a pack near the checkout. I had a buddy with a card shop and he would make 10 card .25 cent packs and they would sell like crazy with kids just wanting to buy something.
Just to note: He would buy big lots of common/semi stars for like .01 cent or less a card, then make the packs. Something so simple kids dont even know these players but some want to chase there favorite teams.
Also you can make team sets but only with the top teams, Yankees, Redsoks, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, you can make team stacks for those teams and sell for .50 cents for 10.
My two younger kids love opening packs so I normally try to get anything unopened for them. All they know is the different cards ( Inserts/Autos ) Other then that unless its new they know the Reds players and the Bengals.
84 reg. Fleer mostly 2nd year,Update had Clemens,Puckett,I believe Mattingly was only D,T. Glenn Hubbard snake card in that set. Good HOF autos at beg. of video.Looks like 92 fb,nothing in that. Saw video opening 94 Sc bb,they bricked! Cool checking it out!
I collect the cards mostly . The packs are for the kids to open and have fun getting inserts. The Stadium club no one came back telling me they were bricked up thank god lol .
Nice Haul, It's so sad looking at those old Becket price guides to see how much more cards were worth back then. It's supposed to be the other way around!
I agree, but back in those days there were so many of us collecting. Had covid not happened I don't think the newer cards would've did as well as they have. You cant go to a card show and expect to get deals like you use to as collectors "know what they have" lol.
Oh they were, the estate was handled by the two youngest grand kids and according to them the family took anything of value. Mostly everything at the auction was broken , damaged or in rough shape.
