I like the Malaysians people. Very deep and conscious. Might be a good idea to add this to expat pages for Malaysia to inspire more people like her, Her journey will never end as a dead end by inspiring others to do the same.
It's a little click-baity to say $250 when you know, first hand, you get that rate because you know the landlord, and you know the actual rate for everyone else is $280. That said, I got a good chuckle out of the "no A/C" when you clearly show an excellent A/C unit in the video, so I guess it's sort of a wash. lol
@@le_th_ that is a fair comment!! That’s why I said “Can anyone show me a better apartment within 10 mins of the old city for DOUBLE the price or less! So far… Zero. Kinda says it all 😉
@@le_th_ also I corrected the no ac in three different places. I travel quite a bit so hard to remember the ac situation everywhere I go… especially since I don’t use it. But your comment is quite fair. Thanks for stopping by!!
nice apartment, what are the utility rates? or is it just a flat fee like you said? i usually worry about cheaper apartments inflating the unit price of electricity, the last place i stayed in Bangkok was 3.97 baht per unit from the MEA.
These are very nice owners. I've known them for a long time. There is an electricity bill each month but it's fairly low and not artificially inflated. Seemed very low and reasonable. I don't remember exact numbers -- but very very low relative to the rent cost.
@@jean-charlesmarlier6831 dee dee court is the name. You can do monthly classes contracts. Does not have to be a full year Contact the building for more info.
Ok couldn’t find that place on Google, kept diverting me to other properties and I don’t have FB nor Instagram but I found the location on Apple Maps so shall make a trip there soon thank you. I am now staying at dcondo nim ..
@@jean-charlesmarlier6831 good info! Yes this is it: maps.apple.com/?address=Soi%20Chiang%20Mai-Lamphun%205,%20Mueang%20Chiang%20Mai,%20Chiang%20Mai%2050000,%20Thailand&auid=2639950424911762671&ll=18.770396,99.008322&lsp=9902&q=Dee%20Dee%20Court&t=m
I very rarely had problems with mosquitos because I closed them before sunset. I have no idea why mosquitos mostly avoided that apartment -- it is kinda strange. I also had a very nice and spacious mosquito net around my bed while I slept because sometimes a few would get in there! Other units do not have this design and it is easy to keep mosquitos completely out of the space.
Some folks (very few obviously) responded that they FOR SURE knew of nicer places than this for the money. I challenged every one of them -- with a direct comment -- to name a nicer place, within 10 mins of the Old City -- WITHIN $200 USD per month of this price!!! And to name it with a link to the building. Guess how many responded? Zero. ;-) Pics or it didn't happen, folks. "Trust me bro" ain't gonna work for people who just want honesty and help finding a fantastic place at a super low place, in a secure building in a great location! Zero response is exactly what I expected ;-) I even gave them a $200 USD/month buffer and still nothing.
There are people in Cusco like this too. I've met them many times. "I live VERY WELL in Cusco, Peru on $500 USD/month and you should seeeeeeee my gorgeous apartment!!!" Nope. Didn't happen. Never happened. Stop making up stories about your brilliant budgeting. A proper budget for a semi-nice place in Cusco (where you're not in a room sleeping with 4-10 other people), eating out at restaurants a decent amount (not all the time), drinking moderately and taking some simple side trips (like Rainbow Mountain), occasionally, is $1200 USD/month. You're going to have a very tough time paying the amount of rent that people pay (like me) who are extremely well-connected here. If you want to live kind of fancy -- in a nice place, -- in a nice hood, eat out constantly at the best restaurants, moderate to no booze, side trips, yoga and gym, side trips twice a month: That would be closer to $1500 - 1700 USD per month. But you have a very niiiice life here for that. If you cooked ALL the time and lived in a cheap hostile, you may be able to pull off around $750 USD per month -- if you're REALLY good. but you wouldn't be going to Rainbow Mountain, the jungle or ANYWHERE. My budget in Chiang Mai was around $1000 USD per month but that's on the high side for the backpacker crowd. I admit... I regularly eat at fancy places and I had a nice scooter and many fancy coffees and teas :-) I lived in Bali for around that same amount in 2017 because I didn't drink at all and had a nice place. Now, it would be more for sure. My budget in Bali would prob be around $1800- $2000 a month. Thus, I might opt live in Lombok or Jogja instead. Or I'll live in Bali and just spend the money. I love Bali. I don't care what people say about it or "how it used to be" -- unless it's difficult now to rent a scooter. Then, I'll skip it for sure and go to Malaysia next time.
We had a little studio in Chon Buri and set up a small kitchen/laundry on the balcony, tapping water off the sink. It worked great. That is a pretty nice unit for the price. The AC will be running from March through October but electricity is so cheap.
Yes, this one is much, much smaller than the one I lived in but still a wow deal in my opinion. Especially for the security and safety of the building if you have a nice scooter. Lovely owners. Very attentive and nice. Super close to Old City. Awesome for a budget traveler! And very, very clean.
Thanks!! I have never seen a nicer place, in that location (10 mins from Old City), for that price. I'm sure it exists... but I haven't seen it. Safe Travels!
Many apologies to the folks that I told that the unit does not have A/C. IT DOES HAVE a very nice A/C Unit!!! I just forgot because I don't really use A/C in Chiang Mai because I'm not there during the hottest times. This unit DOES have A/C!
my house in Thailand have too AC but not has need use longtime, only hot season need use little time can go sleep better and timer take OFF AC when sleep not totally need AC, normal life need only FAN at room have good. and day time all windows i keep open.
maybe saying "I've been all over the world" is an exaggeration but I've seen a lot. I've stayed in many places for a month or more. I've never seen a more beautiful place in the world (to me) than Cusco, Peru. I was in the United States for a full year and I really tried my best to like it. But I really didn't like it. I could maybe live in New York or California again, but I'm not sure I can live anywhere else in the USA. This place fills me with joy. It makes me feel alive again. I love the culture, the people, the alpacas, the history. I love not having to have a car very much. Also, half of my best friends in the world live here. I found out how important it is to have your friends around you. That's why I came back. And thank you for asking. It means a lot. Best! -Scotty
You over sold your apartment, nothing special and virtually no kitchen. All that counts is your happy with it but I'd not live in something like that. And no air con😮
@@6ft3FreekinNewGuy also, please give us all the address and phone number for a better apartment within 10 mins of the old city of Chiang Mai. Thanks in advance! Cant wait to see it actually. I may stay there next time. We’re all waiting 😉

@@6ft3FreekinNewGuy so anything yet for double this price. I’ll make it DOUBLE the price. Show us something better within 10 mins of the old city. We are waiting!!!! Thanks in advance. It is clear you are well versed on Chiang Mai real estate. So let’s see those links!!!!!!
Lemme know what ya think guys? Anything I could do to make these videos better? It would be good to know bc I’m doing a lot of these (with this specific question).
Use Google Maps and search for Dee Dee Court - you may have to go in person but I think a phone number is listed! Dee Dee Court is DEFINITELY searchable on Google Maps and is the name of the building. Lovely owners.
@@FlowithBrooke it was recommended by a friend. But there's another way to do it! See my above comment on how to locate the building. Get a scooter or a taxi to that area and walk around and just look for "FOR RENT signs" and talk to people and knock on doors. I know that sounds crazy but it REALLY WORKS. Looking for stuff around Nimman is gonna be expensive now. There are many other options.
@@mattivirta please give us the address and phone number of a better apartment within 10 mins of city center. Thanks in advance!! I can’t wait to see it!!
correction: there is a nice A/C unit! Also please give all comment readers a better option that is even within $200/month of this price. Thank you in advance! We all can't wait to see it! ;-)
