Fibromyalgia makes everything in my life just that little bit harder. I share those struggles as well as the joys I discover as Life continues. Quilting, art, crafts, and hours of Minecraft give me a sense of peace and purpose. Come along on my journey. Please share your Journey. Together we can make it through.
I made an entire victorian needle tatted robe. It took me about a year and a half. It would have taken me longer, but I was out of work due to medical problems/disabilities. It was beautiful. My roommate's girlfriend stole it to "teach me a lesson" because she was jealous. I wanted to make another, but I don't have it in me. I'm also working again, so it will take me much longer.
So sorry to hear about your struggles. It's great that you've recovered and back to work. I hope that you do continue tatting. Busy hands quiet thoughts.
How long does something like this take? I want to learn because I sprained my wrists crocheting and am desperately looking for a new hobby that doesn’t hurt haha
6 months for this one! Not really. I put it away and forgot about it. The snowflakes can go pretty quick. I think one of my bracelets took 15 minutes. I put the time in one of my videos.
Che meraviglia!! Mi incanta vedere questi gioielli d'arte. Ma se termina il filo sull'ago??? Come termina il lavoro, visto che ce molto da fare???❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for asking. When the thread on the needle runs out, make a tight knot, cut both ends 2 inches or more, bury the threads by threading the ends back through. This ends the tatting, it won't unravel. To continue thread the needle through the last loop where you have tied off. Pull out a yard or so of core thread and continue tatting. I will make a short video showing this. Happy tatting!
@@aquiltybirdstudios grazie. Per la disponibilità..buon lavoro. Mi farebbe molto piacere se ci fosse un tutorial in tal caso .come allungare il filo dalla parte dell'ago🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍
Thanks for asking. I usually use beads that will fit over the needle and thread. So the size of the hole doesn't always correspond to the bead size. Anyway these are 4mm beads. I hope that helps!
I'm sorry, no I can't. I used a published pattern. Maybe in the fall I can design a filigree snowflake. The pattern is in the snowflake book I show in one of my videos. Hope that helps?
@@leahcockerham9335 I found the original pattern @Dreams of Lace. It's called Editha. Here is a link: www.tatting.de/dol/editha_e.htm . Hope that helps. Happy making!
I realized through making and filming this project that even when I feel like I may have been run over by a truck, I can still complete a simple project. With Fibromyalgia one often feels insignificant in our profit driven society. Just finishing a small task can seem so rewarding!

Thanks for your interest. Yes, there are many tatting videos available on RU-vid. Here is one on my channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OiwNmm9pCiM.html
Thank you for asking! I'm not really sure. I used unmarked thread I probably picked up at a yard sale. I think it's a pearl cotton size 5 or crochet cotton thread size 10. The needle size was 5-0 from Handy Hands. Tatting usually needs to be quite tight. Soaking it with starch and then blocking helps. Let me know how it goes!
