I just Adore ooga saki. She's amazing. For me, she was one of the few that made Su to cry on stage. I am happy for ooga saki to be able to make her dream come true at such a young age. must have been such an inspiration for her to be able to do it. Ganbare Ooga Chan, or should I say baby chan. Goot ooganing
I just realized that Saki Ooga and Rinon are the only two SG members to be in the group with all three Babymetal members AND 2 of the Avengers. Pretty cool
This is the "graduation" ceremony from 2013 (2012 nendo) where 2 members are leaving the J-pop Idol group "Sakura Gakuin" which translates as Cherry Blossom Academy. Sakura Gakuin has the theme of a Girls' school. It is also an age-limited group of grades 5 through 9 or roughly ages 10 through 15. Here we have Suzuka Nakamoto (senior or 3rd year middle school, 9th grader) and Mariri Sugimoto (6th grader or last year elementary) leaving the group. Suzuka (Su-chan), also known as Su-metal would be continuing with the agency in the kawaii-metal band Babymetal. Mariri was leaving Sakura Gakuin as her modeling career was becoming more successful. All attend regular schools as well. Sakura Gakuin produces a CD of songs at the end of each nendo (school year, April - March) as well as the singles and DVDs of other school themed activities.
@@johnschultz7765 so if I get this correct, these girls are all graduated from highschool (?) and they are deciding what do to with their future and their music careers.
@@diegovanrooij5271 , no. In real life Suzuka (the oldest of the girls) is 15 years of age here, and had just graduated from her real Junior high school the week before this performance. There is an element of reality television. The girls are all professional singers, dancers, models, and actresses (child actors). Some started at age 6, for some this is their first real job. You should probably read up on the Japanese Idol system. Also, this is just an excerpt of a much longer performance or should I say concert. The majority of the performance was the group and sub-groups doing singing (and dancing) of the different songs produced over the last year. And following this they did 2 more songs and then all gave their farewell messages to Suzuka and Mariri, with those 2 giving their farewell messages to the rest of the group and the audience. Sakura Gakuin is a musical group first. They rehearse and film on evenings and weekends. Not all continue working after they leave Sakura Gakuin. But quite a few do. Some do acting (including voice acting for Anime), some become singers, and some do fashion modeling. Lots of information out there, including Wikipedia articles. Check out a few Sakura Gakuin music videos. And of course, if you are not familiar with Babymetal, then watch the official music video of "Megitsune" and branch out from there.
Thanks for the info! its amazing how Japan is advanced even in music and entertainment. Here in Brazil, we have some tv shows with child singers, but not on that level @@johnschultz7765
I’m kinda late to the party on this one . But it was truly awesome and tear jerking at the same time . I hope you will be doing more translation videos in the future . If you were to do the Sakura Gakuin videos from the beginning I’m sure your channel would be very successful . Yes it’s a lot of work , but with hard work comes great success . Thank you for the transition , I hope to see much more from you . ❤️👍.
The whole graduation ceremony was at very least AWESOME. If the US could have graduations such as this. These young ladies that grow up as a family is simply heartfelt and so very touching. They should make a movie out of this and follow up with each ones lives and the growth of BABYMETAL.
Yeah. Moa already knew Babymetal had more shows already lined up, so she'd still see Su a few more times (they had no clue BM would continue to this day). Baby-chan, though, idolized Su probably more than Moa and would _not_ see her again except maybe occasionally at Sakura Gakuin live events.
Nene-don doing her best to hold Saki Ooga together (& also Mariri, who spent this entire graduation ceremony in tears). Such a kindhearted caring girl Nene-don.
Mariri _did_ choose to leave the group, yes, but she still officially "graduated" (early) because it was her last year of elementary school -- Saki Ōga and Rinon got certificates during this ceremony too.
