It's cool how they have country/city themes for every floor too. The prices at the food court are even cheaper than some street food places. Even though it's probably better to support the street food restaurants outside, it's so much more comfortable with the aircon inside the mall 😅

I did a cablecar once in Switzerland...it was pretty unpleasant/scary and because of it, I didn't do a nice walk up to the summit myself. Totally agree with reason number 10 (and related ones): what's to be gained from going if there are like a zillion other people, the clouds are in, food choices are limited, it's costly and we can see the views already on YT. To my mind it seems better if we can get a nice bit of food made up then go for a motorcycle ride and if the weather is right, see similar views from the hills for free. Or just chillin' on the beach, always good!
@PepeLePauly
@PepeLePauly 11 дней назад
It was actually a tough decision to make, but I think I made the right choice because of the cloudy weather issue at the time. Going all the way up there only to have a hazy view or rain would have been disappointing. There are so many other cool things to do in Da Nang too. I guess it makes for a good excuse to visit Da Nang again to experience Ba Na Hills on a nice sunny day with more money to spend haha

Speak for yourself! Well known around the world as a stunning architectural marvel seamlessly blending with the natural surroundings, Golden Bridge in Bana Hills, DaNang has recently been selected by TIME magazine as one of the best destinations in the world. It won the world's leading iconic tourist bridge category at the 2021 World Travel Awards after having beaten 11 other rivals including some of the world's iconic bridges such as the Henderson Waves Bridge in Singapore, Panorama Langkawi in Malaysia and Mishima Skywalk in Japan. Also, the Ba Na Hills cable car holds the world record for the "longest non-stop single track cable car", offering spectacular views of Da Nang and the surrounding natural forests.

I like your list and mostly agree with it. As for the Dragon Bridge fire & water show, we must understand that young kids may be impressed by it. Vietnamese culture is very family oriented and their kids are always the center of attention. That said, this show is a good people-watching opportunity for adults. The nearby night market has almost no foreign food options, so if you're not in the mood for grilled Vietnamese seafood dishes, you'll likely just be buying a fruit smoothie. That's why, pre-pandemic, the foreign residents set up their own night market in the An Thuong area. This market has changed locations and shrunk a bit because of the pandemic, but it's in a rebuilding process now.
@PepeLePauly
@PepeLePauly 17 дней назад
Well that's true about how families and especially kids would like the Dragon Bridge show. I'm still glad to have had the chance to experience it once anyway. Good to know that there is a foreigner market area. Will have to check that out next time!

Man, don't go to Hanoi, you're gonna go nuts. That one guy selling banh bao is nothing compared to the noise hell in Hanoi. I just came back from a 4-month trip to Vietnam and I thought I would end up going deaf. The noise now is nothing like it was when I visited for the first time 15 years ago. I was actually born there but I'm a Canadian citizen. I don't know how they can tolerate all those decibels from morning til late at night, it drove me mad. I'm not even gonna go into the constant construction noises. People would play their stereo systems at maximum volume with their doors open so the whole street would be subjected to it. I was renting this apartment in the old quarter and a neighbour played his music so loud, the whole place was shaking as bad as if there was an earthquake. Shops do it, restaurants do it, the noise comes from everywhere. It could be as loud as a concert, the police doesn't care. Nobody complains cause everybody does it. It's like they're immune to it or something but I don't have that gene.
@PepeLePauly
@PepeLePauly 23 дня назад
I know Hanoi is quite loud sometimes too. Maybe it depends on where you're living in the city. Doing vlogs walking around the West Lake area wasn't too deafening, but it was sometimes a challenge to record audio when talking since I had to pause whenever a motorbike revved by lol. Love it or hate it, Vietnam is a symphony of sounds for sure. What was your favorite place to see in the country?

It’s funny because I have recently watched a video of a k-pop group who visited a little Korean theme park called Lotte World I think and I’m guessing that they rent it out for a bit because they and the employees were the only ones who were there at this indoor attraction. I think it was to make filming easier and to avoid being mobbed by fans.
