“If I ever made you feel like you couldn’t be yourself with me, I’m sorry. I want to know you. Who you really are.” - this speaks volumes beyond the context of the episode, or being a shapeshifter, its the basic principle all relationships should strive for, to accept someone else for who they are, not who you want them to be, or who you think they are. Star Trek has such amazing universal morals and themes and messages about being human even if told through an alien story.
2:07 Kira is such a supportive and kind partner to Odo that it only just makes me well up watching scenes like this, I think anyone can hope to have a relationship like they do. DS9 doesn’t have many good romances, Jadzia-Worf are very over the top and violent, Sisko and Kasidy suck, Ezri and Bashir is a bit sketchy given his past behaviour, O’Brien and Keiko are like almost stereotypical old bickering married couple
One of the best episodes of DS9. And this is the Best scene. Too bad Odo and Kira do not end togerther. Great music. Thanks for the entertainment pally. RIP James Darrin - Vic.
This is THE film adaption - a very powerful moment excellently done. Muad'Dib had just passed. Leto II had let Ghanima know that he was alive and well, and showed off his transformation. The Golden Path lies before us - but not for Alia.
Actually, there might have actually been a market for a sort of "you command DS9" program, kind of like Miles and Bashir fighting the Battle of Britain. And with clothes on, even. It would just have to be Kira-less.
My favorite part: Sisko enters the office-Kira says (I suppose you want the office) Sisko replies (I came in to say hello and then take the office but we can do it any order you like). 4:33
Quark has a heart made out of gold pressed latinum. He just doesn't show it most of the time. Moogie did a great job raising her two sons. Rom is also a gem. Not to mention Nog who will become a captain one day but the only one who passed the Kobayashi Maru test. Twice! My precious Ferengi boys 🥹 They were the heart of DS9. Atleast in my opinion.
Vic Fontaine should’ve sang Love and Marriage during this scene. He sang a lot of Frank Sinatra songs. Married With Children is my favorite sitcom of all time. Star Trek is my favorite non-sitcom of all time. The Star Trek franchise has a special place in my heart and it always will
This episode is so delightful, hilarious, and just another reason why DS 9 rocks. That scene with Kira singing "Fever" is outstanding---the music is sublime.
Everyone knows Morn's always running through the station stark naked. Guy pretty much can't wait to show off his equipment to anyone nearby. I don't see what the fuss is about.
I haven't read the book yet (I've read Dune and am reading Dune Messiah atm) but I found out in the book apparently Alia kills herself by jumping off a ledge. Slightly different here but I think I like this version better. When she's like "Mummy. Help me" definitely gets you emotional. Alia was always a strong character but this from her shows that even someone like her isn't invincible. And at least here Alia gets to know and her final moments are of her mother holding her. The miniseries has the best cast of characters (except maybe Paul and Duke Leto. 2021 has the best Paul. But best Baron, Alia, everybody else in the miniseries cast)
