George used the data Of Lewis .. Lol 7th .. compared to pole?.. is Worthy of a Deep Dive. LEWIS WILL SMACK IT TODAY.. take that to the Bank and keep the change @cameronf1
I sympathise with George as he seems to have got a raw deal with the poor Mercedes car, overly long tenure at Williams when he was clearly better than Bottas, Lewis not retiring due to the 2021 fiasco and a lot of undeserved criticism for his mistakes that other drivers don't seem to get. He seems to hsve spent a long time trying to prove himself. I agree with Chez. This season he's been up there on pace, whereas before he's usually 2 tenths off Lewis on race day
Just some additional info on Ferrari... they went out on new tyres in Q2 thinking it would rain harder...unlike all the other teams, and then did not change their plan to end on old tyres But also the car doesnt warm up tyres like the Redbull
Most drivers lose there speed before hitting mid 30s LH is still decent at 40 years old but it’s clear he lost his speed and his experience counts in the race
Lewis was never a qualified specialist. His pole record is due to the dominant cars. He is at his best during races! Alonso was actually a fraction quicker over a lap in 2007.
You can not compare any sport era by era because everything is different for each era. From the way they are raised, the mechanics, the nutrition, the education, the environment literally everything is different and you do not know what Senna would be like if he was born in 2002 or vice versa.
I agree with your comments on Ham. Lets see how he fares when he comes up against Charles we will only be able to confirm when he gets there. Toto as we said before cannot be trusted when it comes to not tinkering with the cars! Checko is still the best guy on the grid for that second driver position. Remember the bulls have been here before with everyone struggling to cope with the Max juggernaught in that team! Clearly there are things Redbulls know better than most! Performance alone is not enough
Thank you for saying it as it is. I love Lewis with all my heart, but GR is simply doing a better job in Quali. I'm also disappointed that Lewis keeps fuelling the conspiracy fire, but I guess pride will not allow him to face the truth publically. Sigh...........
Russ stated that he looked at Hamiltons data to see how he could get a better lap. Therein lies the difference. Hamilton need to return to his IDGAF attitude quickly. If not, this will continue.
Lewis must have screwed up the start of his flyer to get so much yellow sectors...or was the track loosing grip? Russel is a killer. Let's see what happens at T1
You are a real begger waaw really you are silly little bi**** _ you so fake I can t belief how fake you are whit this female voice like liverpool girls sad man stop using Lewis Hamilton name you rabbit
After winning in Monaco with LEC, Ferrari struck out without any dry traction (Ferrari now looks like Mercedes). Red Bull's Sergio Perez aka Checo checked out again in Q1. Max uncorked a good lap to be on the front row. Daniel Ric posted a fast lap near the end for 5th. Mclaren is the best team overall in 3rd (NOR) and 4th (PIA).
I will say this. I know it’s only one race but that merc was a ballistic missle in fp3 and qauli. Showing signs of strong progress and I think max better keep one eye that progress!
"Max Verstappen has escaped punishment after an investigation into his actions during qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix. But shortly after the session, Verstappen was placed under investigation. He was accused of not complying with the race director's instructions in the way that he left the pit lane during qualifying and summoned to give his side of the story. After a hearing, the stewards decided to take no further action against the Red Bull racer. They explained how they came to that decision in an official FIA document published two-and-a-half hours after the conclusion of qualifying. It read: "The team stated in the hearing that they assumed Car 1 [Verstappen] had crossed the solid white line separating the fast lane from the working lane when it was released from the garage and therefore followed the procedure outlined in Article 34.8 to leave the pit lane in the order the cars arrived there. "The stewards determine that this assumption was inaccurate as no wheel of Car 1 had crossed the solid white line separating the fast lane from the working lane. It is noted that the fast lane is demarcated as the lane (marked by two solid white lines) closest to the pit wall. Any other white lines and/or painted areas have no relevance in this context. "Given the fact that Car 1 was not in the fast lane at the start of the session, the regulations and the race director's Event Notes (item 11, document 29) only required the driver to blend into the fast lane as soon as it is safe to do so, meaning that if there is a suitable gap in a queue of cars in the fast lane, and without unnecessarily impeding cars already in the fast lane." I think Lewis is just mentally in a kind of relax mode. After the stolen Championship there was a lot of confusion and pressure. On top a car concept that didnt work in reality. I think latest a lot of pressure was taken from him after announcing the Ferrari deal. With that he lost also the tension he needs to get out there and use the special percentage that made him so often victorious in the past. I think next Season we will see a total different Lewis again.
Have to agree, cant compare, but for me one thing stands out, if you look at consistency, in an era where they are doing 20+ races a season, you can count serious mistakes by max on one hand and not even get to 5. Schu/Senna had some shockers at times. Last season by max was incredibly impressive, so many tricky races, rainy and wet conditions. He was flawless.
Both Mercedes have been on fire this weekend, and Hamilton was the inform driver until it mattered. Internally Mercedes have always seemed to play the driver politics with a straight bat, so apart from the few 50/50 calls which this season will understandably be given to the driver who is staying, it would be hard to imagine that the team are significantly engineering Russell's dominance over Hamilton. If there is rain, Verstappen will probably take the lead, a wet race might even help Hamilton move up the field because his poor qualifying position isn't a true reflection of his car's performance. Whereas both Verstappen and Hamilton have proved they are good in the wet, Russell's rain craft has yet to be determined. Verstappen hasn't been comfortable this weekend, but it is a sign of Verstappen's Red Bull's continued strength as when they generally have a bad day they are still on the podium.
It's subtler than that. Hamilton is getting older - but he also lacks confidence in the car, the team and himself. That means he's not pulling out the full extent of his ability. He was like this in 2011 and 2012. He needs to have the stability and he doesn't have it. When he was fully committed to Mercedes, but now he doesn't have that level of support because he is leaving. So that's why he's struggling. He can't pull on the natural ability as much because of age, but he doesn't really have the belief to pull out the stops for this car or this team right now. That's the 1-5% of performance he had over a team mate, gone.
This is a simple one peeps! Let me ask a question. What would happen at Merc if HAM was beating RUS this year in the Drivers Championship & quali?! Then leaving the team at the end of the year to go to a rival. The scrutiny they would be under, the optics would definitely not be good for the team or RUS. Conspiracy theory or not, there is no way, no how, that HAM was going to be ahead of RUS in either category. HAM knows this now, that’s why he said something in Monaco. He thought they would show some loyalty for his years of excellence within the team. Simply CANNOT happen because RUS is now the standard bearer and must be portrayed as such. Above all else is, F1 is still a business and the sponsorship $$ involved for a team such as Merc is tremendous. RUS has to be shown/portrayed as the better of the two no matter what. I believe in 2025 we will see confirmation of that quite easily at Ferrari!
I can’t believe Hamilton got beat by Russell in Q 3, I hope to God for Humanity get first place snd win the Canadian GP and Mai pad destroys his car and have Hamilton first, Russell second and third Norris 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🥰🥰🥰 Techie and I hope for his sake that will be the result !
Cameron i really respect your ability as a fan boy that yuo trully are. It's very difficult to admit that the driver you adore and believe with everything is the best ever is possibly losing a bit of the edge. Im 53 and have seen it happen to every driver I've ever watched. Sir Lewis is one of the best ever and i assuredly am not a fan of his. I think it's possible that RB may be saving Yuki in case Max leaves instead of bringing him up now and possibly have Max destroy the confidence of yet another teammate. If Max stays then put Yuki in the other car after Cheko leaves. What do you think about that?? Keep up the good work. Fan from the other side of the pond.
That was a “Get your popcorn out” qualifying session if ever I’ve seen one from the competition to the suspense of if the clouds opened up and poured down glorious rain. Loved it.
Lewis said himself hes been shit in the last two year at quali - and he said that last year when he was doing way better than this season. Thats what it really is, hes been shit at quali. He still has speed in races but qualifying so down hurts his races a lot
