We went in August 2022, it was miserable, too hot, long waits, but the thing that pissed me off the most was paying for Genie+ for a service that once was free. Even with the fast passes, I still remember waiting in line for hours in the hot sun during interim while the fast pass wasn't up. Animal Kingdom and BATB dinning was our only good experience, but I can't say it's enough for us to return ever again. We also went on a RC cruise that same trip and it was 1000% better and 1/3 of the cost. I'm glad the crowds are lower, it will finally improve customer experience after years of CEO reducing it.
it's because disney isn't disney anymore, it hasn't been for a long long long time. Maybe they should stop messing up everyones IP's that they bought up greedily. AKA it is down because people are starting to realize disney sucks ass.
I was at Disney world July 14 - 17. Had I not been lured by the extended evening hours at 2 of the parks and actually heeded the advice of certain crowd websites(although some of it was conflicting), I would have had an easier time getting on all the rides and potentially spent less money on genie plus and individual lightning lanes. Missed a few lower priority rides but still had fun. Visually the parks looked busy(due to suboptimal planning) but the wait times were mostly reasonable.
@@jd8184 Going to MK and Epcot extended evening hour days for example. I took advantage of the extended evening hours, but the overall attendance on those days were MUCH higher than other days recommended by the crowd websites.
At least Universal is putting rides and experiences indoors, (A/C, seating, ECT.), not standing in the sun like Disney's new brand. Disney Corporate sucked massive profits out of the parks, their stock dropped and they gave bonuses to the executives and not profit dividends to the stock holders? Increased costs, hassles and decreased shows, rides and experiences for "Marks in the Parks". Magic express, gone, Marks in the Park can get their own transportation, and pay for parking everyday...no love and no magic. Up charges to profit off of line time increases (WYF) Punishing Marks in the Parks with longer lines unless they pay extra for lightening less lanes and live on your phone all day, yucky do do, on you Mark. I have seen outright lies on wait times, allot, dropping a load station, a train, a car to increase wait times...We need to sale those up charges. Major rides down at rope drop....sale those up charges. Not staffing rides...sale those upcharges. Good luck on eating without using your phone, you will be punished with increased wait times. Do you feel like a victim yet ? Some people have money to burn, but most do not. Some people already live on their phones, but is that a vacation? If Mommy and Daddy are grumpy the little ones are not very happy. Why rethink a Disney "Mark in the Park" get away? At least the lines to broken down and closed rides are shorter. WCDB
I'd like to see you cross reference the high temperatures for the days given, each year. 2024 was right smack in the middle of the east coast major heat wave.
Corporate greed and on one in upper management caring to listen to patrons asking for the magic back, added amenities we were willing to pay to get. Anger sets in, sorry but the "Marks in the Parks" is all we are to corporate now. The Magic is history, lower your standards, lower your expectations and open your wallets wide. What is the safe word? Universal still acts like they care to offer a good experience. Stay on sight, and Wow, I am impressed every time I go.
Disneyland has more rides, shows and experiences down than I have ever seen, at a higher price (Now offering discounts?) The "Marks in the Parks" have a 68% disapproval, record dissatisfaction and are voting by not going to the parks. Now a labor dispute with Disney only willing to pay poverty wages and hard to get benefits....not feeling the love here. Actually dropping performers rather than paying to keep them. Dropping the good indoor stage performances (because they have to pay more for A/C , indoor seating and of course higher wages for talented cast members who they treat like workers. Looks like the down hill slide is picking up speed. WCDB
Why go to Disney world and spend a small fortune when you can go to a regional park like six flags or cedar Fair get a decent experience if not better during the holiday season haunt and winterfest which are coming back again🎉 and I think they have a dining plan for that stuff and maybe special food .
We are going to Orlando for the first time next early February and will be staying at a Universal's Sapphire Falls and focusing our trip on that area. It will probably be half dead because of the time of year and because of people waiting for Epic Universe to open. Disney World is just way too expensive and it would have cost us over £1000 extra to stay at a moderate there. We are dual income no kids so we have some disposable income. If we can't stay at Disney because of the high prices then how the heck is a family supposed to afford it? Disney is its own worst enemy.
We were there on July 3 2024, and all of the popular rides were 30-90 minute waits. Made heavy use of Genie+ to get past the lines. Your crowd calendar says 33% for that day, so clearly something is off in the data.
@@JustinDowe If you're being sarcastic: Stop trying to publicly ingratiate yourself with Disney. It's cringe. Besides: She'll never have sex with you. If you're not being sarcastic: please ignore what I said and carry on. Good day, Sir.
Most people are not able to get the DAS anymore and some that should qualify because they can’t go to the park without accommodations. I know lots who have cancelled their passes and trips.
I remember going to Disney and to be honest, too expensive. I was able to find an amusement park that was just as fun and more enjoyable for less and closer to home. This is just my personal opinion. I do believe that Disney has lost some of it's magic due to bad upper management and poor business decisions. However, I don't think this is the end of the park, they've suffered before and have been able to pull out of the red and back into the black. Personal opinion
I used to love going and casually enjoying the day. All the planning apps and paying to pass lines stuff it’s just not for me anymore. There are other things I enjoy that don’t involve so much money and planning for so little reward
Didn't mention DAS 😕 I've had a quadruple bypass & I'm currently on dialysis but was denied 😔 used to come with the kids now I explore the other Florida parks that want me there 💯
@@RobertGoodwin-zv9vi we did forget to mention that. You’re right, it’s absolutely disheartening that they are turning people away who actually need it. Blatant disregard for their consumers 😔
One reason for low attendance that a lot of people on Social Media is not talking about, is the fact that most tourists are waiting for Epic Universe to open before they travel to Florida.
Hey Guys! We promise our window blinds were closed but apparently they are terrible and we need new ones . Sorry for the sunrays haha! I think its funny that people keep saying Disney changed Splash Mountain for being racist yet they themed the new Tiana attraction after a salt mine which was a punishment for SLAVES
I stopped going to Disney after being a pass holder for 2 years, and had a friend who wanted to check out Galaxies Edge. $175 for 1 day admission is not worth it when I can go to Universal and get 2 parks for a day with something to do inside them. I was not impressed.
Disney still has a certain level of finesse and charm that is different from Universal's almost 1990s "In your face! WHAM! BANG!" aesthetic. That said, stop giggling so much. It takes away from what you say, which si interesting and fun. Every time you want to giggle, just stop yourself. You will get better retention. You'll see.
@@chrisfoxwell4128 Not fair. It was based on an ultra-offensive movie (about a guy who was super happy while being a slave!) and needed to be changed, and new version is very pretty.
@@chrisfoxwell4128 Who is "they"? There's no conspiracy here, I saw Song of the South, I also saw the new attraction, which is not my favorite at Disney by any means, but it's pretty good and more finessed and filled with subtleties than Universal attractions are, in my opinion.
@@robertruffo2134 ,"they" is whomever told you Song of the South was about a happy slave. But, since you claim to have seen Song of the South and have based your opinion on your own experience, I guess it's just your own ignorance. And, the same would seem to be true about Splash Mountain.
thank you for the video, it can't be underestimated the damage to Disney parks if Universal build the theme park in the UK as well I loved taking my children to disneyworld as they were brought up watching disney classics, the gender stuff they are obsessed will long tern kill the nostalgia as people stop watching disney films, so not looking good for short, medium or longterm, they have a huge vested interest in where people stay on their holidays, if less people go to the parks, chances are they are not staying on site with Disney, personally i think that is where the real damage will come from.
Universal is boring and the effect wears off within 15 minutes. A lot of people are just jade anti-Disney because their politics is their personality. It's kind of sad.
If Disney wasn't hell bent on destroying both Star Wars and Marvel, they could have created more rides and grown on both of these in a similar manner Harry Potter world at Universal. Tron is a waste of time waiting for. It's a 90 second ride which isn't any more exciting than the roller coasters at any theme park. Guardian's is okay, but for the content only. The actual ride isn't overly exciting. It sounds like they are ruining the content of Haunted Mansion, so way to go Disney.
