Hi, I'm Don Newkirk, recording artist, music producer, recording engineer, a connector of electronics & prople welcome to my channel. For over 30 years I've learned a myriad of techniques & acquired tons of skills from being in the music industry and working with some serious creatives! This channel was created for an outlet to share those skills. You'll find everything from Old school Analog gear, Drum Machines, Synths, DAWs, Virtual Instruments & Effects. Trust me, I've Probably seen & used it all at some point. I've also had a major record deal back in the days, worked with some music legends & owned a professional recording & all of that helped me to develop a keen ear and a particular insight on all things music related. I'm also into metaphysics, spirituality & business building so I tend to extract & breakdown the spiritual nature & business overtones in music as well. So stay a while, like, subscribe & comment often cause I love to discuss things with my family!
hard work ripping other peoples music and hard work until those sample clearance litigation papers come in lol, but RZA did it the best. Along with Primo and the original bomb squad.
From the very first time I heard Andre 3000s verse, I've been in complete awe of the way he painted such masterpiece of a song with such poetic excellence. Mind-blowing is what it is!!!!!
i have hope for the black community because allthough my people are considered black in my country from the outside of america we havent been asssimilated by victim culture that led us to the situation kendrick is discribing kendrick is definitely a concious person who understands the bigger picture
Man this is so DOPE! You are the "PROFESSOR & SCHOLAR". I love the breakdown and history lesson in these videos. I feel like I'm in biology class in High School at 16yrs old and instead of us learrning how to dissect a frog and all it''s body parts (by and nerdy un-iteresting teacher), we are in the studio dissecting some to the most LEGENDARY MUSIC made by a Grand Master. Thank You Bro!
You did a wonderful job of showing the connection of the song and its ideas to their roots in old school R&B/Soul. I'm 67 and grew up with that old school R&B/Soul. There was what I call the southern soul. (As you know, in the south there was more gravel in the voice, more brass and woodwind in the bands, and little or no strings in recordings except for guitars. Otis Redding's music is a good example of this.) The opposite can be said of the R&B/Soul from elsewhere, which often carried smoother voices, and had more string instruments in its recordings. Silk Sonic drew inspiration from the smoother stream of old school R&B/Soul in their recent nine track album, "An Evening With Silk Sonic".
Damn RIP I don’t this guy before today and this video. Can you give a quick history of this cat what he’s about? I know I can go Google him and find out things but I prefer getting info from people who have a relationship as opposed to AI and algorithms etc.:. He’s seems genuine and the fact that he highlights this episode and the content of the episode made me an instant fan of his.
@@adamstickelbault He came on the scene back in the late 80s as a solo singer, known simply as Newkirk. He released music and was featured on works with acts such as 3rd Bass, De La Soul and Prince Paul.
