I have a 2005 Freightliner Century Class S/T, Detroit 60 series smartshift with the clutch pedal with no fault codes . When I first start it ,then put it in gear it shift fine I can drive for hours. When I need to take a break turn it off . then try to get it to go into gear it won't. I would have to sit for a while and then it will go into gear and drive for hours. Do the XY Shifter suppose to display fault codes? Please can someone help me
engine block looks like a bmw gas engine block just larger, worked at scheider a driver told me his dd15 had rod bearing failure at 600k miles. my 2012 cascadia had new long block installed at 330kmiles under warrenty, rear main seal is leaking on the new engine with 320k miles engine seems to be the only good thing on the truck at this point, lots of problems . egr failure, dpf filters stopped up 3 months after purchase from select trucks, air compressor, radiator, heater core, oil separter, power relay failed fried my omni tracs eld, hood fell apart, hinges are glued on to the hood.truck is just falling apart a 650k.

I want to convert my truck to manual I really hate automatic when it breaks down it to expensive and not everyone knows how to fix it so always end up taking it to the dealer where is more expensive
haw did we moved forward is older trucks work better" dependable " than Your new truck? You know the shine do not make us truck drivers and company owners money. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TH
I'm driving one and with 17,000 miles on the engine. It has not needed any oil. The color of the oil is black but I can still see the stick. The engine sound like shit but it's good on fuel.
and it sux!!!! This is the worst Automatic Transmission I have ever used. It is constantly confused as to what gear it should go to next, which by the way comes in real handy when your sideways in a 4 lane highway with traffic coming both directions. Maybe I just got a lemon but I am very dissatisfied with mine. Just bought a 2016 International 5900i that has the Cummins ISX and the Eaton Fuller Plus, within 2 days of the purchase, check engine light comes on, have it back to the dealer several times, finally determine that low and behold, my piece of shit transmission has a Data Link problem with the Engine that cannot be fixed under warranty until it actually pulls a hard code. At which time, I wander just how much damage has been done to all the other components? Would not recommend this transmission to anyone that is in very different terrain at any given time. Put it on the highway set the cruise at 75, trk idols along at about 1200RPM, thats the only thing good i can say about this Trans.
the DD15 is a dud, no one likes them. No power and hard on fuel. The only solution is to get rid of Mercedes idiots and get Roger Penske back in to fix the company.
