I need help. I have one of these saws. My problem is mine sits out in the rain under a cover. Someone took the cover off and it rained hard and my saw filled with water and oil. How do I save the oil? If any one has any suggestions I would love to here them.
Dang. Fortunately the oil will float on the water. Hope it didn’t overflow!!!! And the rock sludge should have fallen to the bottom. Use a scoop and put the oil in a bucket. Dump the water and then scoop out the rock slop from the bottom.
I’m glad to find this video! I recently suffered a stroke and now in a wheelchair myself! I bought a metal detector and started playing in my yard. I’m finding some challenges and limitations though!
I know exactly. It was purchased June 18, 1964 direct from Frantom Lapidary Equipment Co. $267 plus $30 freight. It came with the wrong blade, it was sent with a 16". I know this as all of the original documentation came with the saw.
Hey. Any tip/rule that you can give when it comes to preventing the high-speed sphere grinders to start spinning one direction? I have built one myself, and I often have that issue. 😅
Are you asking about the stone not moving correctly within the three cups? Get them as level as possible. Find the right pressure. Make sure your preform is as round as you can make it. Anything else, just ask.
This was the first time I used this camera. I couldn’t ask him to do it over. He dislocated his shoulder and after a break in the ambulance, popping it back in place, he did the jump.
Ive read somewhere that catfood with borax mixed in will kill the nest that they came from. I havent tried it yet myself but im considering it because they are a major nuisance on my front patio lol
Do you have a refractometer? Sometimes you can take in stuff thats not capped. My mentor told me some colonies will never cap the end frames even when its dry enough. You've probably heard of a horizontal hive yes? I really like your video, ive only just found your videos, i cant wait to watch more lol. I love how you find humour in everything, its very inspiring 😊
Thanks for the kind words. I gotta get a refractometer. I have actually started building a horizontal hive (a couple of years ago) and hope it will be easier to manage from a chair.
Also if you sprinkle a little boric acid on the meat ( not a lot or they can taste it) they take it back to the nest and it kills larvae and future queens,,, does work
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. The motors are 105.7 rpm motors. They come from old, outdated, copy machines. They work great and occasionally are available through eBay or other places.
Used to have a buddy that I worked with who kept bees. I'd help take care of his garden when he was on vacation and he'd give me about a quart of his honey every year. By far the absolute best honey I've ever had. Man was I bummed when he moved out of the state.
@@DirtCleanerVideos Do you make an announcement on the channel before the open shop day? Wish I still lived in Wisconsin, but Tennessee is not too far.
FYI, you can get CA (Cryno-acorate super glues) off with acetone. Heat will also weaken a lot of glues, so with your rock slab/wood block, you might have been able to bake it to 400F and been able to get it loose.
@@DirtCleanerVideos I saw the acetone in the latter half of the video. I also saw you saw down the wood. After sawing, I think you could also leave the wood glued to the slab and go straight to a 50 grit "polish" to remove the remaining wood.
Holy crap! Un"bee"lievable rescue! I am also VERY IMPRESSED with your helpers!! Very brave! I don't think I could even "bee" involved with a bee suit! Dave, you really amaze me with all the things you do since being paralyzed! You are an inspiration!!
The power belt. (From motor) is a 4L520 or 48X520. 1/2” by 52” power belt, not an automotive belt. There is adjustment to allow for a little shorter or longer belts.
Idk what possessed you to make a video of sludge scraping and mucking out, but man, I’m sure happy that you did!! Our club was donated a 20” saw in excellent condition, and we are going to use it to replace our old 24”, which has a few issues, and we need to do this pretty soon! A thousand thanks from this noob who is to large saw maintenance & muck raking!! ;)
You could use the standard electrical resistor color code for marking your grit sizes. Using stripes allows you to go 1-grit to 100-million grit using only the standard colors. Easily done. Also, leaving an occasional flat spot on spheres is actually useful, since it avoids to buy a holder for the sphere. We ran into this with our kids projects.
I just followed these steps for my Keurig 2.0 and now it won't work... I'm going to need a new coffee maker. I'd advise anyone to think twice about trying this.
Just wanted to jump on here to say thank you kind sir! I had enough of this Keriug 2.0 problem and found your video, followed it step by step, and voila it now works! Big thanks
Congratulations. you have been picked from a random number generator as the prize winner. please email me your mailing address. you can send it to: rocks@superiorlapidary.com
# 179 Super Clean! Pre-congrats on 2000 subscribers. I have a mookaite sphere. Its so hard it will actually bounce off a concrete floor without breaking. Have demonstrated it many timesan it has no marks on it which I find amazing. I didn’t know about the wheel chair until today. I’m learning how to live with RA myself and its not fun.
I just started making a Mookaite sphere. A young fellow stopped by my shop and bought it right off the saw. He really wanted the stone. Good luck with the R.A. hope you can keep with the hobby for a long time.
