I remember how I solved the rubik’s cube as a kid. I finally gave up, figuring out its core functionality, and focused instead on exploring how certain moves produced certain results. In hindsight, I probably should have taken this lesson more seriously. Curiosity, the power of tinkering, parallels with Taleb’s discussions about antifragility, with the emphasis on flexibility and serendipity. And going back further, a viable alternative structure is espoused in The Cathedral and the Bazaar. I also see echoes in Ian McGilchrist’s work, also reductionist thinking vs systems thinking. Overall, these perspectives highlight the importance of curiosity, adaptability, and open-ended exploration in problem-solving and learning. They suggest that fostering an environment where experimentation and serendipity are valued can lead to more robust, innovative outcomes.
This woman’s high pitched voice is so annoying and her adulatory laughs came out of nowhere being so distracting. She’s simply ruining this interview by hosting it…
