we did get the fisrt big rule change in bench this year. now the bottom of the elbow must pass the top of the shoulder.

Completely banning arching is misguided, as a slight arch is part of proper bench press technique. If you follow powerlifting closely, you'd be aware of the recent rule changes that require the underside of the elbow to be at or below the level of the top of the shoulder joint during the bench press. If you are not arching to limit the ROM to the minimum required in a competition you are leaving weight at the table.
