Purchased mine in 2024. SRC crash bars & skid plate are well designed and precision manufactured. Be very mindful of other products that tie into that top most mounting point on the headlight frame unit. That mounting mount is a weldment that sticks out about 2 inches. A low angle crash that contacts the ground will stress that mounting point beyond its limits . It’s not designed to be a structural attachment point for crash bars.
Very cool. A little complicated and many potential failure points. Has there been longterm testing (I see this video was made 3 yrs ago). Would be very interested in the failures and how you remedied them...
I bought and fitted one of these to my 2021 CB500X. It was an absolute sod to fit, looked butt ugly, vibrated against a front section of my motorcycle and prevented me from cleaning the headlight glass beneath. I soon removed it, threw it in the bin and replaced it with a simple plastic Perspex (or similar) cover the same shape as the headlight that attaches simply to the headlight glass with four little button like Velcro pads backed with adhesive that you first stick onto the headlight glass. Being transparent, you don't even notice it. It is light, strong (it's now travelled over 20,000 km and much of this on gravel roads and looks brand new), attaches securely via the Velcro 'buttons' and can be easily removed to clean the headlight glass beneath and then just as easily replaced and, compared to the heavy, ugly, vibrating 'cage' which is the subject of this video, cost next to nothing. I wish I'd found it first and not wasted my money on the subject of this video.
This is so poorly filmed. And no explanations. You did the same thing in your video 2 years ago and someone told you in the comments it was bad. Yet you did it again. Do you not care about customers? Such a mess to install, I really wonder what's going on in your heads to not do a proper documentation/video to install.
