Love how the military jets get to have some fun in YYZ. Threes years in a row I supported my companies operation in YYZ over the CNE airshow weekend. Loved watching the performers buzz the tower at Pearson.
I wonder if the rumours about an Arrow "buzzing" an American airbase at ridiculous speeds is true!!?? Its such a shame this project was cancelled!! Not too many people know the story of this aircraft. 🍻☮️🇨🇦
This aircraft was parked in our hangar at Camarillo airport when Joanne owned it early in my aviation career post ARMY helicopter mechanic fresh A&P 1993.

Such a shame to fall to the whims of another country ,, the Arrow was so superior to anything that the states had to offer at this time and they just couldnt deal with it and then to apologize they shoved a rotten air defense system up our arse ,,, nice neighbors ........
Thanks for posting the video Gordon!!!! Your Ultimate Aircraft sure is a wonderful performer, and I wish there were more being flown today. It also makes one of the best flying radio controlled scale biplanes as well. Thanks again for the very enjoyable video!!

I don't understand why the Test Pilot, JAN ZURAKOWSKI, isn't named while the chase plane pilots were; security reasons? Totally ridiculous that DIEFENBAKER'S CONSERVATIVES ordered the plans destroyed and the planes cut up! At the very least, those clowns could of sent one to a museum. WHY did they, at very least, not approach any other countries for money to back this amazing aircraft they ordered destroyed? Many AVRO employees went to NASA and helped the USA in the space race. Canada lost out because of clueless, shortsighted politicians like Diefenbaker. I guess Canada, being a small country, could not afford this on its own but........
Post WWII Canada. With tons of engineering experience from building planes that helped to win the war. Amazing minds working together. Really sad that the project was canceled.
What a great moment it would have been for every Canadian. I am from India and love aviation and understand some of the dynamics of creating these works of art ...just by feel not by any great hands on stuff ... What a knife in the back! My heart goes out to the designers.
