You want to solve the homeless crisis? Stop calling it a homeless crisis and call it what it is, a laziness crisis. every single person I see who claims to be "homeless" is a fraction of my age and I am 60 years old and disabled. I get up, make my bed, clean myself and make myself presentable and go to work. I work part time and easily bring home $1400. every two weeks and I live in one of the most expensive places in the US to live, the Bay Area. Yes, I have a pension, $1600 a month so I bring home approx. $4500 a month, I have a mortgage, I have gas, electric and water, insurance and a car payment. You know what else I have? I have the ability to live within my means and budget and I put a few bucks a way every paycheck. Could I go back to work full time making well over 6 figures a year? Sure but my point is, I can live comfortably, still have time to do the things I like and survive without crapping on the sidewalk and living like a phuking animal. You want to solve the homeless crisis? Stop feeding the rats and roaches, when you feed the rats and roaches all you get are more rats and roaches. Start arresting people for vagrancy like we used to do, hell if we are going to have to pay for their laziness, why not make our streets and parks usable and safe again, lock these waste of life animals up. And before you all go there, drug induced psychosis is not mental illness, laziness is not mental illness. I don't care if you're offended by my comments, you have every right to feel the way you do and I have a right to say and express my thoughts just as much, be offended. If you don't like what I have to say, either scroll or fix the issues and not the person who's pointing those issues out.
So you’re not mentioning the fact that you get a pension, while most of us only work and get payed, that’s it. You make 4500 a month but most of us working full time are making 2800. You’re luckier than you realize, and summing it down to laziness is simply ignorant. I wake up, do everything I need to do, work full time, and go to school, and I’m barely surviving. Rent in Colorado for a studio is 1k, insurance is 300 minimum for me, phone bills, car expenses , utilities, everything you have to pay all the same. At the end of the month, I have maybe 400 bucks, and I need to eat, and I need to fill my tank. You get the idea? It’s not laziness, it’s impossible, you either work as your life or you don’t work at all and at least get to live your life a little bit. A lot of people choose the latter when working full time doesn’t pay their bills, the things that they require to survive. How about we focus on inflation, the healthcare system, addiction, and abuse which are the main causes of homelessness. These systems are all screwed and corrupted, and until you fix the root issue the surface issues never resolve.
Drug induced physcosis IS a developed mental illness. This can range from PTD (persistent trip disorder) , to physcosis in a person from taking a drug that alters their mental state. Some people experience a persistent static in their vision , like a tv, from taking and abusing substances.

They think losing everything will teach you some life lesson that will trigger you to fix everything and get on track. It doesn't work that way so basically they are trying to get them to die.
