The James Webb space Telescope will let us see 13 billion years into the past... Which is REALLY RIGHT NOW in the present...cos it'll be another 13 billion years before the BLOODY THING EVER GETS LAUNCHED!!!
Great project but the American Dream sell video makes me throw up in my own mouth. Let's focus on the science and not the bloody patriotism eh. You're only 4% of the whole population.
PM is quite the fast and loose noneng, nonsci sales speaker. Unimpressed with his dumbed down version of cosmology and thermodynamics LOL... That's ok... But so much for 'ink in a 2018 launch" when an IRB recommended the spacecraft (NG' and this guy's baby), demands delay to spring 2021.
How did this guy get a job in science or technology. He can't even speak good English. The information is both interesting and astounding. The project amazing and a wonderful demonstration of both curiosity and inventiveness. Those working on the program love the pay scale even though some of them don't give a fig about the project and the effects on knowledge of life and the Universe. But , good grief, at least put a spokesman up there who can speak good English, even if he does come from New Jersey
Someone at NASA should tell the engineers to call home and tell their mom We tried but we couldn't do it. Is it alright if I come home and live in the basement......

It should be amazing to see just some of what this comes up with for pictures. I'm old enough to have been around for the first moon walk and it's unbelievable how far our technology has advanced in that short time to where were soon going to be able to view very close to the the starting origins of the universe.
Great explanation! Recently we implemented Deskera ERP ( www.deskera.in/erp/ ) we are seeing a huge benefits of it. ERP automation is must in today's business.
Great lecture on how the WEBB works and the deployment. Absolutely amazing achievement by all engineers at Northrop Grumman. Can't wait for launch day. Exciting times we are living in for sure.
Excellent Promotion...We Are a Great source of Education. Thanks to SME Manufacturing Education is idea for Technical Education. T J (Tom) Vanderloop, LSME, CMfgE & CMfgT & AWS Member
fantastic presentation! This mission could possibly create lets just say fallout technology as NASA is a public funded project meaning ALL the information is basically in the public domain. Look at how the technology from the manned moon missions"fell out" that was used and still is in most everything around us today. Consider just only computer technology. If NASA hadn't bought up somewhere close to 50% of the country's chip production to make those flight computers NONE of the makers would have invested the money and research to develop chips like we have today. The total government buying of the early chips was probably close to 90% when the military is considered. The early Titan ICBMs also used them. Then there is the effect it had on the communication field. Bottom line is most likely nearly all of today's communication and computer technology has its roots In the manned missions. JWST could possibly do the same today in areas nobody is aware of..
I am very excited about the launch this year in Oct. but I was wondering why you don't use nuclear fuel pellets for fuel as I think I heard they can fuel a car for 1000 years or somewhere in that area. this unit must have cost at least $3B and after 10 years need to build another?
If my understanding is correct it needs rocket fuel to maintain it's position, that's the limit. How much fuel is used per year will in the end determine final life.
