Really wish there where more of the soldiers Its been too long under staffed and the regiments have dwindled in size We need a strong army and a properly funded and armed force these days

The police are there for a number of reasons, The roads are closed off for traffic just before the parade, and then opened up again when they have passed they are also there out of respect to the soldiers. and just in case you get an extremist jumping out from the crowd

@@geldartm nope. 4 Scots were formed in 2006. Before that they were The Highlanders. The Highlanders were formed in 1994 by the amalgamation of The Gordon Highlanders and The Queens Own Highlanders.
