Looks like he's using an advanced pulse feature. Instead of pulsing from high amps to low amps, the machine pulses from AC (set as peak amps) to DCEN (or DC-, set as the "background amps" or "base" amps). Greatly improves penetration capability for aluminum, by 25%-50%. Not many welders have the setting unfortunately. My Everlast Lightning MTS275 has it👌🏻👍🏻
