@@thwok59 it’s a screening before the movie releases that critics are invited to so that they can get their review out before the movies release! Sometimes it’s private or sometimes it’s open to the public
Same! Just finished season one and when he full blown proposed I was lost! I was like wait...aren't you like...old enough to be her dad? I assumed he was seeing her as a daughter, ya know? I thought he was going to get a similar vendetta against Tommy for similar reasons, but it makes more sense in my mind for him to come off as an overprotective father figure and not a romantic interest! I didn't get the vibes at all, that was number one. And number two...dude knows she's falling for(let's face it, she fell already) someone way younger, hotter, all around better in general, even has the bad boy with a heart of gold aesthetic going on! Of course she wants Thomas fucking Shelby and not some weird old dude who was literally old enough to be her dad and was pals with her actual dad! Like...dude had a cane...the Asian prostitute even said he was old lmfao like what!
This movie is a must see if you’re on team rainbow. If you don’t own at least one rainbow flag, you’re going to wish you missed this one. Might be the worst M/F date movie in history.
Absolute mindfuck, and unlike any movie I've seen before. I love how the viewers and the main character were both clueless for the majority of the film. Like you said, by the end the audience is much more informed than Lenny, but overall I like how it feels like we're both along for the same ride.
Utterly stupid cartoonish action scenes. Why does Cruise approve of this terrible CGI? The fake motorcycle stunts are to be expected by now I guess. Doesn't make them any good though.
I admire Dev Patel’s passion behind the camera and emotionally charged performance in front of the camera. The action was fun at times but a little shaky and choppy more often than I would’ve wanted. The movie also dragged a lot for me in the middle. I liked it and enjoyed my time, but I think it is being a little overhyped. Thats just me though. Great review!
Thank you! I like to review right after I see it so I’ve been able to fly through the editing but sometimes I forget to talk about something I wanted to talk about, like with this movie I liked how he progressed as a fighter throughout the movie
@@DaveLaneTakes it’s still a great take. I haven't seen anyone else mention how the action is disjointed. Sometimes it's amazing other times it's mediocre.
Look buddy😅 I just watched season 1 and I’m bored. I get it, it’s slow phase and there are a lot of information I don’t get it. So I came for a review and you just talk how great the show is for a half of the video and then again how great season 1 is without explaining anything that happened 😂. What is this? Why did you name the vid review? Thanks for wasting my time
I enjoyed it well enough. It had the same wit and charm I liked in the previous movies but it definitely is missing the depth that elevated those movies from just feeling like “a movie for kids.” Which is totally fine, its just not as investing as an adult.
This movie wasn’t even so bad it’s good, it was just bad and boring. You could feel that no one cared about this material, with poor dialogue and bland performances. The action was so weak and the villain was pathetic. One of the worst comic book movies ever and worst of this year. Great review, Dave 👍
Lemme try to recap everything that happened inthe past. After 7 years In Cleveland LeBron didn't get a single championship, over the years in a interview made a decision to be in Miami, CC Fans got upset. LeBron in Miami won two times, Unfortunately when he got to the finals They failed. Then a Suddenly Decision that lebron will make his comeback, in Cleveland 2016 he won a chip for Cleveland and ended 52 year drought. 2018 July was his Free agency, Thinking where he will be, and a suddenly Decision that He will join LA Lakers. Ofc through the years Lakers have been in trouble what I mean? Is that They have been not winning since years after Kobe retired, Phil era Is officially gone forever. A Familiar 3 time champion mega superstar came to LA to end the Issues And problems of Lakers inthe past LeBron changed everything for LA And they finally have hope.
Thanks for the honest review! The trailers turned me off and given that none of the critics have said its a "must see" in theaters, I'm inclined to just wait for it to come on streaming.
Watch “The Pacific” again, because your nostalgia is clouding your judgement. It is actually a terrible miniseries, in regard to its storytelling and characterization. Apart from Sledge’ arc, everything is forgettable and redundant. Plus, the characters are bland and horribly cast. There is a reason no one, besides Rami Malik, became a household name. What a disappointment and waste to finally showcase the part of WWII many forget about.
Just finished the first 2 episodes. I agree there's a cleanliness to it. I think that also has to do with HD cameras nowadays, which almost makes CGI pop more. Either way, I'm absolutely enjoying the show so far!
Not sure about the credibility of this review respectfully. Have to say after seeing the screening myself, it was fantastic. I have to completely disagree with your assessment here. You can't really compare anything to BOB but this series was spectacular based on the same title with the book of course. It felt authentic, the story was amazing and the production and cinematography was second to none. It is heavy CGI but they did a tremendous job. I would highly recommend it. To me, this was better than the Pacific and up there with BOB.
I would love to see those veterans talking at the beginning of each episode like BoB that would be absolutely outstanding,... But im afraid it wont be like this....
Fair review that aligns with what I was expecting based on trailers. Having read the book too it's such a broad story covering the entire 100th bomb Group. Not enough time is spent on individual characters there's like 300 characters lol it reads like a documentary. BoB followed one company and we grew w the characters
Just finished season 3. I was always told “it’s one of the best shows ever” And I always shrugged it off. That’s no understatement, easily my favorite tv show I’ve seen. Even passing Breaking Bad for me…
For me, theres many lost opportunities in the writing that could have made the show even better like they should have showed the backstory between artie and adrianna, they should have been more cohesive with the lamp in the basement instead of letting that story line fizzle out etc
@@cynicalsandw_o solid points. I agree with the lamp idea. There was so much tension once they bugged the lamp and each conversation in the basement had me nervous! I wish it would’ve lasted longer before meadow took it. Other than that I think the writing was perfect, especially the ending
This concept was so ripe for an awesome thrilling ride, and to me the movie was not that. At 95min the pace surprisingly dragged and the movie tries to do too much that it loses sight of its simplistic yet brilliant concept. Could’ve been amazing but I walked out feeling, meh. Also I’m pretty sure it forgets there is no gravity in space more than a couple times haha. Great review
I kinda liked the dynamic of the family but as a horror this was very poor. I did not find it scary. The attempts to make the pool scary failed miserably and the dialogue became so dreadful it was literally laughable. A couple cool set ups and shots but overall this one didn’t work for me. Great review, Dave 👍
