Beautiful Lake. Nice that they took his bike in right away. Wow...a noise violation warning, they were board. Very nice video. Love the PCH. See you on part 2.
I think it’s a really great product, just wondering how far does it really stick off the back of the helmet?? When I get off the bike, I put my helmet in my GV tracker case, and with the added brake light, will my helmet still fit in the case like it’s meant to.
Thank you, for the down to the Earth Review of this jacket. Monday, I’m leaving from Southern California and riding into, and through Arizona, and due to your review of this jacket I’m off to the store to buy one.. thank you again for your video content. Ride safe out there, and enjoy life to the fullest.
The reason the gear indicator doesn't work with the clutch pulled in is because of how it works. It says the gear based on two parameters: speed and RPM. If you think about it, each gear has a specific speed curve as RPM increases. The gear indicator knows this so it doesn't work until you're moving with the clutch out. Even if you pull the clutch in while rolling, it'll still show the dash (because your RPM's are out of any speed curve for all gears). It's easier to do this than have a switch with seven positions connected to the transmission like the V-strom.
Nice review. I think the kickstand is a compromise for all suspension settings. If it leaned enough on 1up setting it would lean too much when in 2 up + luggage setting. At 200lbs, when I ride solo without luggage I typically set in on 1up + luggage which is already a bit higher and leans more on the kickstand. Cheers!
How did you like the tires? You mentioned "trail" in the name of the tires. How do they work offroad? I'm guessing light forest roads, hard packed dirt roads?
Thanks HMR! I love the production quality of your videos. I'd love to take one of these out for a ride. Thinking my next bike will be in the middleweight adventure category.
I have the 23 in champion yellow. Very pleased with it. I bought the taller windscreen, but it creates more wind buffeting but an air deflector fixed that. Only drawbacks were lack of cruise and tubed tires. The 21" front tire is fine. Zero issues with handling. I do mild off road but mostly paved. This is my daily rider and hopefully, the last one I'll need. In my mid 50s and hoping this be my last. 😊 Great review, good job.
I did pay $500 for the Wing and color matched Trailer. Then put money into it to restore it cause it hadn't run in over 20 years. If you buy a house for $300,000 and then spend $50,000 to replace the roof, new furnace and some windows...do you tell people you bought the house for $350,000? No You say you bought it for $300,000 and then put money into it That is exactly what I did in the video. And if you had watched the rest of the videos on the Goldwing restoration, everyone was told exactly what it cost to restore it.
I have a Voyager and I really like it. I am an IBA member and also do very long distance rides. The Voyager is a lot more comfortable, reliable, and less expensive to insure and repair than the HD Electra Glide I used to have. Kawasaki makes some very decent bikes, especially for the money. I currently have two Kawis and a Honda, both brands are a far better bang for the buck than Harley.
Ive never heard of Double A armor. Its usually CE Level 1 or 2. Anyway, Im searching for the most ventilated pants that I can find for dual sporting. Klim claims that their Mojave line is the most ventilated, but several people say that they like the Marrakech.
To make the Cornering lights permanent Driving lights that are on when there is power to the bike, all you have to do is pull the green wire out of the Cornering relay or cut it.
You are correct, I forgot to say how many KM's were on the bike. However in the next video after that I showed that there were 234,635 km on the bike when we started the restoration.
Leading off with the lightbulbs? Who gives a crap about lightbulbs? And the review failed to get more interesting over five minutes later. Barf worthy. Bye.
Honestly what I truly want to know is for a bag this size, can it fit a pretty average men's casual shoe size of a 10 1/2? that would be insanely nice as I have a rearbag but I was hoping to get the daypack for the passport wallet sunglasses and shoe change option basically. Thanks!
I have never heard of someone putting shoes in a tank bag before, That's cool. I just tried to put my size 11 runners in the bag with it fully expanded. They don't fit, sorry I can fit my sandals in no problem, because they bend Ride safe
Thanks for your video..I just did open same package from alliexpress and I was thinking how to install all this parts together. Found your video, can do it now....very easy..😁.
I realize this video is 2yrs old but he spent 5k to get a 1991 Goldwing road worthy. For the same money I just bought a 14yrs newer 'ready to ride' 5th generation fuel injected Goldwing. Way less problems with fuel injection and a modern bike.
It was done as a first time restoration project. A project to learn how a motorcycle works and how to fix one. It was a lot of fun. And I sold it for what I had into it. So, I lost no money and learned a lot.
Nice review. I bought a Baja S4 set, but even that seemed heavy ish for my So Cal summer riding. Fortunately had to drive to LAX and there is a Revzilla nearby so was able to try the Marrakesh and I really liked it so the S4 got returned and I am just trying to figure out what color to get. Black and the very light grey are out so will probably be getting the brown or green jacket and charcoal pants. My initial fear was that the Marrakesh would feel “too” light, like there was no there, there (track suit) and that wasn’t the case. I also purchased an Ai-1 airbag vest and think this will be just right and very comfortable in the summer months. Am also going to get a wind shirt in case I hit cooler temps along the coast or in the mountains. I bought a Latitude set when I got my Tiger (after trying the way too heavy for me Badlands and Carlsbad), and that has kept me comfortable down to 40 degrees f or so, with nothing more than a sweatshirt under the jacket and under armor 3.0 base layer under the pants (and that more just to reduce possible chafing).
Is your setup still working? I too wear the Ai-1 rally airbag vest because it has L2 back armor and it has more breathing room than the standard vest. I took out the chest pads because I no longer ride off road. It feels pretty good under my Marrakesh.
@@4940markhutchins If that was to me, I've only had my Ai-1 a few weeks. So far so good but have only been out a couple times. I don't wear chest protection for the riding I'm doing, and have taken the back armor out of my jackets when wearing the A1-1. I find it to be very comfortable for what it is. Will see how I do in 100+ degree heat (it is what it is... can never be truly comfortable at those temps imo). I ended up reordering the Baja S4, since I read many comments saying it actually flows more air than the Marakesh... though I'm finding I have a weak spot for the Klim gear, so will probably end up with a Marrakesh set as well before long anyway.
There are only a few engines in the world that have perfect balance: Straight 6 cylinder engines, boxer 6 cylinder engines, straight 8, V12 and V16, and nothing else. That's why it's so smooth. The boxer 6 cylinder is one of the rare "magic" engines with perfect balance, like the CBX1100. A flat 4 cylinder twists inside the engine bay and you can watch it dancing around on Subarus. The other interesting thing about a "boxer" engine is that you need very little counterweight on the crankshaft, so the crankshaft can be made much lighter than a regular inline engine, making the motor shorter, and lighter, and faster revving.
I've seen a few reviews of this jacket all saying comfortable and lite...but no one mentionning if the ghost pads staying where you need the protection...no one mentionning if the sizing is true. I have 2 pairs of klim jeans one with regular d3o and one with ghost d3o and i get the feeling that the ghost d3o if i went down would not protect me much....feels like a gimmick....and do have a Klim Latitude jacket & pants with regular level 2 armor that i feel that protects me a lot more but are a lot heavier than level 1.
I met a guy at the motorcycle shop last week who was wearing the KLIM Marrakech jacket with scuffs on the shoulder. He said he went down at 70KPH and slid. He said he had no damage to his upper body. I guess it works?
Unbelievable , I'M Jealous .75 HRS CLEANING THE BIKE ,I understand that, It's nice to take pride in something. I laughed when I heard you say that, because it sounds like me. Why do something half assed Just on top of the motor had to be a bitch . GOOD LUCK. I've been watching BEARDS AND BIKES ON YOU TUBE . Another great show. TAKE CARE.
Definitely something to consider for the visibility. Thank you for showing it in action, even if it is at the kitchen table! I hope it catches on and they continue to refine it. I just looks a bit chunky/awkward, but not bad for a first iteration. For the safety benefit I think it's probably worth the aesthetic sacrifice, though the helmet makers of my beautiful Arai may disagree! LOL
I thought of doing the unboxing and setup on my motorcycle but I kept dropping things 😂. Just kidding... My long term review will have video of me riding with it on. I have used it for about 1000km of riding so far and all the riders around me say how bright and noticeable it is. I even had a car driver at a light tell me how awesome it is and that they saw me slowing down right away. As for looks, your right..hopefully further generations of it will be a bit less bulky. Thanks for watching.
man i once hit my killswitch without realising. I don't even know how its possible, i didn't even have an excuse like you, i just subconsciously did it without any idea. Same thing, it probably took me half an hour to realise, super embarrassing
