My RU-vid channel is to show the world what I get up to when I practise bushcraft and survival skills, like camping in the woods. I like to explore random things like derelict buildings. I take pictures play with tech like drones and radios, I even dabble with magnet fishing and fishing for fish I'm no professional editor but I do try and I do have fun and love to share content.
@@chrisoutdoors82 I've just got one today Purley because of this 😂 it's locked on commercial but I think I've figured it out now but thanks for the fast reply 👍👍
Hi! Where did you get the pot (cross) stand for the b25 Trangia burner? Can not seem to find it anywhere... Nice video btw, this is gonna be a lightweight solution for my everyday carry.
@@JG-lx6zs mine was of ebay, i would get this as its mega cheap. www.temu.com/ul/kuiper/un9.html?subj=goods-un&_bg_fs=1&_p_jump_id=894&_x_vst_scene=adg&goods_id=601099525673466&sku_id=17592256911987&adg_ctx=a-7d6ada32~c-9e4c2448~f-81a80fd0&_x_ads_sub_channel=shopping&_p_rfs=1&_x_ns_prz_type=3&_x_ns_sku_id=17592256911987&_x_ns_gid=601099525673466&mrk_rec=1&_x_ads_channel=google&_x_gmc_account=710731536&_x_login_type=Google&_x_ads_account=6950480996&_x_ads_set=21050578215&_x_ads_id=165085091891&_x_ads_creative_id=692059889496&_x_ns_source=g&_x_ns_gclid=Cj0KCQjwzby1BhCQARIsAJ_0t5MKxmiz5PiIfhV4TfJ71apnbiMeJ2BxNBvpMrh3-gGgDUU9VmZ3Wz4aAvDWEALw_wcB&_x_ns_placement=&_x_ns_match_type=&_x_ns_ad_position=&_x_ns_product_id=710731536-17592256911987&_x_ns_target=&_x_ns_devicemodel=&_x_ns_wbraid=Cj4KCAjwzby1BhAYEi4AW2d7_R9stEb179LgB3yaYo5GMNaCTajNU9LeSMn2PB1j52R-TVB7mj4oRbeOGgJDNw&_x_ns_gbraid=0AAAAAo4mICEB9Hu31ClG1yUC5tNaams1n&_x_ns_targetid=pla-2295449803658&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzby1BhCQARIsAJ_0t5MKxmiz5PiIfhV4TfJ71apnbiMeJ2BxNBvpMrh3-gGgDUU9VmZ3Wz4aAvDWEALw_wcB
Very nice idea Chris but take a little advice from someone that learnt a long time ago….with no overhead cover the area of that groundsheet will pool water and you WILL get wet! Best idea is to half is so it is little more than a bivi bag footprint! Enjoy!
@@chrisoutdoors82 wasnt that bad through the day but doing night patrols was baltic trying to clean your weapon when you cant feel your hands isnt good ... i used them heat pads you can get on cheap
chris im messaging on your latest video just subbed im was hoping you could give an update on the solognac backpack 45 - 90 thinking of buying it but would like to know how its held up since that video was a year ago cheers bud
The DPM seems much better to hide in than the MTP versions I've seen. I've got a bendy plastic hoop which I've melted flat at the bottom so it is a semi circle to keep the bivi off my face.
Same mods work with the Evernew alcohol burner and crossbars. One of my favorite setups for a canteen pot and nesting cup (Boundless Voyage 750ml). Not as effective as an iso/gas burner but it’s sooooo much more quiet, which is important during my “quiet time” camping trips.
I prefer using it the opposite way around. Use the poles to pitch a MSS gortex ground sheet 'over' the bivi, (within which is your sleeping bag). Much better rain protection and additional cover for other kit or a stove etc. Same amount of kit, just applied differently.
Lot of these business radios exceed 446 specs, can be turned down to 0.5w ERP from the antenna. Why we can't have a higher power uhf service like USA gmrs have (55 watts) instead of this QRP stuff beyond me. Great contact on uhf 👍
id more then reccomend it bud, it will more then do the job albeit for hiking you dont need the ruggedness of this pack, i would look at the osprey hiking back packs as they are lighter and more suited to hiking. this packs ideal for walks whilst hunting or walking to bushcraft camps were you need a bit of ruggedness with mud and and catching trees as you walk past them in a forest / woods. dont get me wrong it will definitely do the job.
@@chrisoutdoors82 thanks for the answer mate, along with those im planning to use it also with my hunting trips to densely forested areas so im looking for a backpack i can do both
Nice vid, doesn't look like I'm missing much in England - swing by the Druid for us if you're up in that area, you're welcome to sleep there and do some recording if you want. You'll be doing me a favour!!
Bonjour, le systeme de sangles sous la musette sert a mettre le poncho et une grenade-fusil a l'origine. Mais on peut mettre un trépied photos aujourd'hui👍
Good video and well thought out to modify that stove. I sometimes modified the Esbit stove in such a way that I made additional parts for it, with the help of which the Esbit stove can burn wood or use the Trangia alcohol and gas burner. All additional parts go inside the stove body during transport. Works well.
@@chrisoutdoors82 Just generally nice accessible areas of river to do bit of fishing. Mainly light lure. Gong to do along the canal as well as end of river here.
I made a burner out of a 35ml travel deodorant bottle with a few layers of carbon felt. It fits nicely in an unmodified BCB stove with two 40ml bottles of meths and a lighter. Nice compact stove for a day hike. It's featured in my channel if you are interested. I never thought to fit a trangia burner so I will definitely give that a go but I find them a bit overpowered for boiling 300ml or so of water for a brew. Having said that your design may work with the simmer ring due to the open side. Iv got to give that a go as well.
Hey man! Thanks for the video review. Super sad you didnt show all the Features. One question tho: you said in the beginning that the backpack is super silent. But when you touch the bag, the material on the INSIDE seems to be quite noisy. Wont that just make noise all the time while youre moving with the pack on your back? Greets
have a older 'carrie cooker' did some wind screen mods to it. as it does not come with those. went a tried the stove with charcoal briquets. fitted 4 into the pan. got my usual 1 hour burn time. what i found out is the heat source is much too close to the food. will burn if not watching over it. distintince from heat to food at 3cm. would work if you could increase distintince to 7/8cm.
