I have a friend who needs this done on a 2005 RAV4 4 cylinder. I almost got my hands up in there to reach that spring loaded latch but I will probably get some 12 gauge wire and make a hook. I will be changing cable and assembly. Thanks for the video
I have the same alarm clock but I don't know where the problem is and how to fix it , everything is ok and all wires are connected but I found a sticky fluid on the cell and it's ending only, what was that, I changed the cell but it is still leaking , what to do, anyone?
They are kinda rare, your best bet is a used one from an auto wrecker or someplace like ebay. be sure to compare the numbers on em to make sure they are the same. Several kinds of corolla also used the 4age engine, so they are something to check. Though I have heard of people using an igniter from the much more common 4afe engine

Always liked the first MR2 AW11, always put a new rear main seal when changing the clutch. Not sure about swapping cranks that way, just awkward, good to see your saving it!

The number one thing that kills these after rebuild is people forgetting to replace the oil cooler. That oil cooler is jammed full of metal because it is pre filter and it will destroy your engine right away if you dont replace it. First run that the oil cooler thermostat opens up you flush all that metal back through your engine.
factory sunroof, AC, and power windows. Very optioned out! Ive gotten the power windows working. The AC has no condenser and has been open to the elements all those years so it'll need to be re done. And Im not sure if I have all the components to make the sunroof work again but I'll give it a shot!

I just put a wrench on it and turned it like i was going to remove/install a belt - if it pushes back with good strength and isnt obviously damaged, its probably good
You could maybe tie a bit of cord & tuck it away or maybe fasten a zip tie to that bottom arm to make it easier to open next time.... Lube it up before you close the hood. I try and keep all the door, trunk, hood, hatch, tailgate hinges and latches lubed up on all my vehicles to avoid those hassles. Let's them close easily too so you don't have to slam them causing misalignment.
If you decide to part it out, I need the surround black plastic molding off the rear window, all 3 pieces! and the hvac/radio surround bezel and the alternator. I've got a 4 AGZE I bought new. Garage queen. ten year old jasper reman with 20k miles on it. Probably needs an in tank fuel pump done too..not sure. And of course the typical "works when they want to" power windows. Might need the HVAC controls again too, mine are frozen for the second time. This time the heat lever.. Such is life. But I REALLY need the rear window molding along the sail panel.

i did this last week on my 1989 SC mr2 and cylinders 1 and 3 were spun, no visible damage on the crank or the rods. Changed them and the noise stopped for like 10min and then it came back but super faint. I guess i truly have to rebuild the engine
you may need to have someone with a micrometer measure your crank - it can be slightly out of round and appear fine but it'll shred bearings. In my case the damage was pretty bad - the block was likely damaged too and i didnt notice, which I suspect is why the repair failed. Such is life with quick and dirty garage rebuilds. A real engine builder would have either fixed that or told me the block was unusable.
Did you not get the stand off guide or wheels that attach to the cutting head? Itll help quite a lot, also take pressure to 65 to 70 psi. But great video because learning is taken from watching another man struggle. Thanks

Hi, thanks for the comment! I won't be doing a video on that because its not my vehicle so I dont have it anymore. Replacing the whole tensioner is a fairly big job - you will need to remove the AC compressor and the alternator to get at it. You may also want to remove the radiator fan to give yourself more room to work. You might be able to get away with carefully unbolting the AC compressor and setting it aside so you don't have to disconnect the lines or have the AC emptied/recharged. The big effort in replacing it is why I just did the pulley and not the whole arm. Good Luck!
