Well-done! Loved it! Throughout my life, I have played acoustic guitar. I take it everywhere I go, and play for myself and others. While I play, I watch people, and this is what I see more and more, people connected through devices. Granted, I enjoy the technology too, but I grew up during a time there were no cell phones and laptops and internet. Times were simpler and people connected directly to one another, and had actual conversations. I like it when others stop to listen and talk when I go different places to play. The music brings me closer to others in a world that can be lonely. Being different in this way makes me feel like I stand out. I guess I like to be noticed and appreciated for what I do. It is a win win situation where I can give something to the world, and people give back to me. Not only do I feel less lonely, but it makes me feel a sense of purpose. I don’t know, this short film conjures up much more than what I mentioned, but this was just one of the thoughts I had after watching it. It is just that I have spent a great deal of my life doing this, sitting alone practicing and playing while watching people. Being good at something often requires spending lots of time alone. Sometimes one can feel very lonely while surrounded by lots of people. There are already inherent barriers that separate people from one another, and electronic devices add another layer of separation. Thanks!

Always remember we must repent of our sins (sin is transgression The Law Of Yahuah The Father in Heaven. The Law are The Books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy). Please record the sound of the original engine before swap it. I'll sleep easily with that in my ears the idle is magnifique. Just a long shot of old carb engine idle before sleep their is nothing best
Personally, they way I interpret this short film, neither him or the people around him are any better. Both chose to engross themselves with the common things they can connect with others. Both sides couldn't find ways to connect with each other despite their differences. Each party had a weakness, that they were comfortable with the familiar and chose people who imitated them rather than breaking the habit once in a while. We also have to understand that this story was told from this avid reader's perspective. So the way I see it, the only person who can bring some colour in his life is someone who is similar to him. If we think outside the perspective of this main character, maybe turn inward to ourselves, we'd do just the same. Imitation is suicide.
The short clearly is showing his side of things as the better side. Parents who neglect their child? Friends who callously send hurtful messages through text without having to face any backlash? The film is anti-phone.
It's a reflection of ourselves as we live we project what we hate, what we think, the way it should be, no one cares, I'm know I'm right, but always feeling wrong. You hurt me so I won't care, what's black and white and red all over. No rain it's dark I need the sun. Except yourself for all you are stop being who you aren't and look I like me.
Holy white balance - did y'all just get this camera? Also, what's the message? Reading books in paperback is the only way? I'm always on my phone. Know what I'm doing? Reading books on my kindle app.
Excellent message. Many people still don't understand it, and it's necessary to raise awareness. We're losing our spark, let's change before it's too late.
Not when you are showing an imitation of yourself. It's insight. Knowing why you do what you do. Be you embrace all of you. If we judge the world for all it's wrongs or what it should be, then you are judging yourself as well. The light you have in you is dead. Except the flaws of others . They will reflect you back so you can see.
if we question it were not as intelligent as this film but ill be the one to ask? why is this called imitation is suicide? that does not fit anything this film portrays in the least. yes its a cool sounding title but im missing the connection here.
i feel that it was referring to the fact that imitating the crowd is suicide of the soul. just a bunch of automatons lurking about hooked up to their machines while he lived free with book in hand. just my opinion.
I hear you, then why was he so irritated there was no relevance for him. His judgement of others seeking to be connected is the imitation. The light i him died. Embrace and accept we all are seeking. The judgment he was making was being reflected back to him. Embrace our selves it's ok to be you. That is the reflection that will shine back to you. We think everyday oh I look so hot, I have the look bla bla you could read him like a book but he had no focus to even do that. To busy looking out. I sight is a very you thing.
BTW, I appreciated your honesty and your fearlessness to ask that question. We don't have to as or more intelligent. Asking a good question. Is one you don't know and want to understand. That's your heart speaking . Intelligence is good but ego can dominate that. You showed yourself I see you my dear. ❤
"The revolutionary of the future will be the person who thinks." -John Trudell "It was morning, and the new sun sparkled gold across the ripples of a gentle sea. A mile from shore a fishing boat chummed the water, and the word for Breakfast Flock flashed through the air, till a crowd of a thousand seagulls came to dodge and fight for bits of food. It was another busy day beginning. But way off alone, out by himself beyond boat and shore, Jonathan Livingston Seagull was practicing . . . -Richard Bach
