As a suburban Victorian born in 1988, the gun culture then, verses now, and in the suburbs and city verses the Country area is very different. Also just because the Aboriginals didn't stay in one place 99% of the time, doesn't mean they didn't farm or work the land for the benefit of themselves and the prosperity of the land itself. (Like planned burnings to reduce lightening fires, and help with tree growth (yeah welcome to Australia, Fire is a part of a trees reproduction cycle)! Australia too did such thing as move native people off their land, strip the land (yeah more desert made by taking away trees!), take children away from their parents etc. The white people moving in weren't always the best thing for the land and it's fertility. And hell yeah, our crime rate especially crimes against innocent is really fluffing low here compared to USA. Wait this came Under Budget!?? WTF? Last and first time ever in Australia.

We do know you're not ALL gun nuts but that doesn't change how many people are killed by gun shot in the USA. The maddest thing is when a British person says something about it and Americans bring up knife crime in the UK like it's somehow comparable. Yet you're also around 3 times more likely to get stabbed in the USA than the UK 😬

We don't consider self-defence as a genuine reason because you don't need to protect yourself from people who also don't have guns. And if you feel you DO need a gun for self-defence there's some examination about your life that needs happening lol.

Plant was or is really a fan of The Lord Of The Rings books, so several songs are medieval referenced. With being from England, & the medieval history & creation of one England adds to it. Plant is an absolutely amazing lyricist, along with an incredible vocalist, putting so much thought & passion into both. Keep going down their rabbit hole, there’s several more masterpieces they’ve done.
Jason Bonham has played in a few bands, & yes he played with the remaining members of Led Zeppelin, at the (2007) Celebration Day concert. Robert Plant is Jason’s godfather, Robert & John were good friends, & band members in at least 2 bands as teens. Plant has invited Jason to the Kennedy Center Honors, Jason said he had a prior commitment he couldn’t get out of. Plant Page & JPJ we’re surprised to see him there, Jason played his fathers drum kit, & was wearing his dads bowler hat. I think Robert got emotional, thinking his best friend John should be there, watching his son play. This is the best cover of this amazing song, but nobody does it better then the mighty Led Zeppelin. There’s more to the tribute, & it’s great to watch, Jack Black says it all the best. Lol, just about every jethro tull song is midevil music mixed with 70s rock. That was their jam. Check out "songs from the wood" it dont get more midevil than that. You metioned Heart. Did you know they had a whole nother career in the 70s were they were much more ro k mixed in with folksy music? Some of tehir biggest and most famous songs are from the tos when they did more rock stuff. They only changed to the format you know in the early 80s.
Australians didn't really leave the coastally areas, the arrows on the map are way way to big. 95% of population are still within 100 miles of the coast

There was international trade before white people while this continent was the largest garden in the world, with areas under crops, trade routes, & the oldest sustainable fish farming practice in the world that lasted 10,000 years. Then the English arrived witht their guns etc & only coped with difficulty. Finally theres a difference between a gun cult/ure and a culture where guns are considered tools by certain segments of the community - farmers, hunters, & sportshooters. The decision on guns in 1996 was the only decision I supported by John. Howard & I admired how he told a Republican conference in the US it was his proudest decision. They were not impressed.
In other countries, guns are tools needed for hunting, sport or vermin control. So we don't have an American gun fetish, same way as we don't have hammer or screwdriver fetishes.
G'day Noa , I have been blessed with bring on the Autism Spectrum , plus Social Anxiety amongst other weird things , but I usually stay in goodish spirits , I did once write 📝 a short story about Gnomes from space I thought the story was good , my Anxiety gets mega tested , my pharmacist who is actually called Jane Gentle thought she had not seen mee for ages and I needed prescriptions , soo she tried to call me but I didn't call he back in time , soo she rang cops 👮♂️🚔👮♀️ to do a welfare check I heard a bashing at the door 🚪 I staggered to door I have mobility issues as well , upon getting to door 🚪 I answered I explained I still had 3 weeks of medications left , I got a tad angry 😡 at the cops ,worry not my brother is a Lawyer I what to say and what not to say , I adjusted my walking stick and the female cop put her hand on her holster , the buzz cut cop left with both his hands over his ears , anyway nothing was hurt exept my Anxiety 🤯 , a lot of people don't know how debilitating Anxiety can be
I handed in my semi automatic rifle. Didn't really think twice about it. And in 2 years the price of a handgun on the black market went from 1000 to 10000. So even criminals didn't have them.
Its difficult to understand the true emptiness of most of Australia. For example, Central Australia has a population density of 1 person per 1438 square kilometres. Thats about 420 people in a country the size of France, or the state of Texas.
