Birds actually can see more colors than we can, as can many fish and insects. However most other mammals can see fewer. Monkeys and humans have three primary colors. Most other mammals including cats and dogs have two primary colors. Birds have four. With insects and fish it varies. We of course can see more than three colors, but the others are blends of the three primary colors. Even in humans there are exceptions. About 10% of men only have two primary colors and are called "colorblind" as a result.. About 1% of women have four and are called "tetrachromats." Anyway, this is not the main part of the talk, but since you seemed unsure, and I happened to know due to my background in biology and art, I thought I'd let you know.
