Awesome!!!! I own a element ecto also the black one. I'm planning to add vanquish 1.9 wheels to add. Do I need hex vanquish hubs to mount vanquish wheels? Or is that optional?😮😮
@arni7810 depending on which wheels you get from vanquish. Some wheels have a lower offset, such as the KMC Tanks. It seems that a 350 SLW hub is the standard. My front wheels have a very high offset, so I had to do extra cutting on the body. I recently got the larger SLW hub to help the front wheels so they won't rub on the body.

Love the look of this build. Forgive my ignorance as a total novice but with the extended wheel base did this start as a deadbolt and get modified or a gladiator? Just researching now before buying my first ever RC at the ripe old age of 56!😂 Any help appreciated
Does need some work to front clip according to other You Tube people. Besides that its nice mini truck. 3 foot drop is high. would break lot different bodys. not just like rolling down 3 or more feet down an incline.
Nice! That kind of work is hard to make look clean. Are you going to lengthen the rear links? 3flow9 has a good servo option called the Torrent Mini HV. It has the wires coming out of the back to help with space issues (narrow chassis rails), and it has more power and other features. Great if you're adding extra weight.
I made my Ascent 18 over 500 grams & now I wish I never added that much weight. It had a far harder time crawling up steep inclines & has killed two servo's in less than a week due to the extra weight. I took 95% of the brass upgrades off & gave them away to a friends so he can put up with the troubles they provide.
Sorry to hear that. I added all the brass in preparation for the hardbody and the scale accessories I plan on adding. Hope your rig is performing the way you like it. Thanks for stopping by. 🤙
@@MrsRabbit8 The two servo's that died on me were the exact same model, they were OGRC - High Torque Micro Servos for $39.99 I got off of Amazon. I had the servo endpoints properly set but they both died with in a week of each other on my Ascent 18. I haven't been able to find a micro servo yet that lasts over a month in my modified FX118 Fury Wagon, FCX24 K5 Blazer, Ascent 18, or TRX4M. I still have not tried Power Hobby or REEFS micro servos yet to see if they last longer than a month in my rigs.
@@MrsRabbit8 I had two of the exact same micro servos die, they were OGRC - High Torque Metal Gear micro servo for $39.99 off of Amazon. I properly set my endpoints on my transmitter but they still burned up extremely fast. I have never owned a micro servo yet that lasted over a month in my FX118 Fury Wagon, FCX24 K5 Blazer, Ascent 18, & TRX4M. The only brand name micro servos I have not tried yet are Power Hobby & REEFS to see if they can hold up.
I have them for my trx4m. Only thing I don’t like about them is the little plate that holds the spring. A little flimsy and if you’re crawling and it gets touched, sometimes the spring moves and comes out of its spot.
There's isn't enough room for the esc at the front. I moved mine up and the body clip won't secure all the way. The esc tray in the back is lower than the tray in the front.
Just lose the batt tray and move the batt to one side and the esc/rx to the other side. Big fall at the wrong angle, and maybe a bit bad luck on that one.
Difference between hard shell body and not. My lexan bodies never last long but typically they're bashers. The main downside for me is the body, not a fan of lexan on a mini crawler, no reason not to go with hard shell at that scale. EDIT : With that said, mine is currently on order 😎
That’s a hard thing to say . I built a hobby plus evo pro out of my rock van and that outperforms any micro mini I have built yet out of the box . So I’m more inclined to think the red cat ain’t that great . Same lines I did with the hobby plus the red cat was tipping out of and rolling
@brycesemenchuk1163 Yes, I moved the towers back to accommodate the delete. If it functions better than the trailing arms, that I'm not sure of. Thanks for checking out the video. 🤙
be pretty neat if you get if figured out I wanted to see a rc4wd kinda build though with leafs and lifted would be badass no doubt this would be fun but to have something like that that actually all fit and looked scale would be amazing imaging rock bouncing a scale winnebago tires and axles tucked under and tubbed the body
