Hello Zero here. I really enjoyed your video. I wonder what the Japanese would use with the Kamisori like maby they used butter or something because I just do it dry if I had raw butter I would use that. Also I hear Urine is useful too I will maby try it out. I will buy a Kamisori right now I usually use straight razor or regular razor.
great product line up … i bought some from Charmwise Malaysia and very happy with the services … prompt and well packaged … ive more or less settled with Merkur 34C as personally i found it to be ergonomically compatible with me ie how i wield it and as razors go, they do their job as per their design … what sets them apart is the user himself/herself … once both man and razor got to know each other, they’ll get along well ha ha … and yes i agree with the short strokes: don’t be greedy with long strokes as DE razors are fixed angle razors whilst our jaws faces and necks are contoured in awkward angles … best wishes …
Thanks for the video! So far I have only been using double edge razors, I currently use the Muhle R41 with sharp feather blades, however, I feel that my beard is too thick, coarse and stubborn, even with the feather blades, and my sensitive skin wants something even smoother. Do you think that a straight kamisori will be a good fit for my heavy beard? I have been considering in transitioning to the straight razors, if it can give me a better and smoother shave experience! This razor looks absolutely beautiful though, so I would really love to try it one day.
Finally glad to see a reviewer from someone in the East Asian community giving their take on such a razor regarded as overly aggressive; but you show us even Asians like myself can safely weld such a beast. Me being one
Great shave! Good technique. I have one of those on my wish list. I have a vintage nos inoue tosuke which I love shaving with. It’s very ergonomical just as your one.
I for the first time try wet shaving today, my god the burn from the aftershave >.< but i'll get use to it over time. i managed to not knick/nick myself because i took my time shaving, the tips helps a lot. Thank you for the detailed tutorial!
This is better than with your curtain closed. Better lighting and enticing background...hahaha Agree with the LaoFuTse comics...that's my favourite part too during visits to the old Barbershop. Cool looking shave razor, soap & aftershave for sure and 1-2 red spots is normal. Somehow your videos are very refreshing. Looking forward to more videos...
Fellow wet shaver here, been doing it for 5 years. Before Charmwise, I bought my soaps from US/EU from biz trips/travels and sometimes even paid a lot to import them. Just wanted to convey my appreciation to Charmwise for all the wet shaving merchandise that I can now buy online locally. Cheers
Please make more video like this! We can always learn new thing regardless of newbie or regular wet shaver. You may also review various wet shaving product too
I will agree......for the amount of hair he is removing...using an R41 is overkill, more irritating than cutting. But hell, everyone does what he or she wants...... it isn't my face being exfoliated by an aggressive blade.
I love my Razorock Lupo Aluminum, my favorite of all Razorock razors, stainless steel or not. I'm Proraso Red guy rather than TOBS Sandalwood which is like temple wood scent for me. I like gourmand scent soaps. Today I ordered that kind of shaving bowl, not ceramic but plastic. It looks like Pereira shaving bowl or 3D printed bowl. Nice shaving video! Are you Korean living in other country?
Great looking showroom bro. Hope all is well. Great video again. The Lupo is definitely a very good razor, I love using it and it was recommended by you. I love the sound of the blade cutting through the hair when using this razor.
At first I like the Proraso Red scent when I started wet shave, maybe because it's very aromatic then any shaving foam/gel that I ever used which smells to colonic and artificial. But after a while the scent is just too much, now I prefer a cleaner scent like Lea, Proraso White and Arko (if u consider Arko's smell as a "scent" 😂).
Don't get me wrong, but it looks like a light breeze could blow your facial hair away, you definitely don't need the R41, the R89 would be ample. You could also do with flipping the camera so that we can all read whatever you are holding up. AND, why do a separate little lather up on the moustache? However I always enjoy anything to do with shaving, and this is the first time I've watched one from your neck of the woods. I'll definitely watch your next one. 👍
Thank you for watching my video! Yeap the R89 definitely will be sufficient, this is jus to show that the R41 is not as scary as what people would think. I lather my moustache at the end to avoid it from drying as I usually do that the last
congratulations on your Iwasaki, its a great shaver, stropping will be required and its shave ready out of the box. For my iwasaki, the cutting blade measures 50mm long and its about 7/8.
@@charmwise3993 thanks! How often do you use it? I’ve tried about 6 different western straights and always had an issue shaving. Never got full BBS…so always sold them off. But since using feather artist club kamisori’s, I start by going against the grain and its been working great for me. So I thought maybe I’d get a real kamisori now that my new technique is working.
@@Aaron83W The iwasaki kamisori is one of a kind razor. While I love it's performance, I do go for standard straight razor more often just for the sound feedback. The wedge design of the kamisori reduce alot of that, not the fault of the razor, just by design and it's just my personal preference
@@charmwise3993 I prefer a good shave over sound effects 😜🤣 I’ve been through so many different razors over the past 6 years and now I’m looking forward to trying a real kamisori. I’ve got 3 different feather kamisori’s and the shave is great but I hear the real kamisori is super silky
@@Aaron83W YES! Especially being honed by a high quality Japanese natural stone! I have the honour to experience that by one of our local honer, absolutehone and it is buttery smooth shave, my beard hair just melted without any resistance
Did you just cut your hair recently? I think it's short right now. And do you prefer night or day/morning shaving? And do you think i can apply facial cleanser first then shave? Or vice versa. Thanks mate and happy Christmas
I prefer morning shave tbh, a good shave in the morning can somehow make the rest of your day feels so much more lively. Cleaning face is usually the first step before we start shaving 😁 that's where the hot towel shave starts as well
Great setup bro. Really nice products. The Stirling Christmas Eve soap and balm has a really good festive scent. The Henson red was an amazing colour you chose for the Christmas Eve shave. Great video bro!
Usually people say "with cartridge razor, u can shave even when u drunk". I guess this razor able to fall under that "shaving while drunk" category too hahaha 😂
