Hi everyone, my name is Peter.V. i am a "P" nut and own a modified P76. I am a bit of a Jack of all trades, be it working on the house or the cars. I have rebuild the current P76 from the ground up front to back. Also love all types of cars be it classic to modern makes and models. I'm a car enthusiast who loves to go to cars and coffees' or car shows to capture the beautiful machines.

What an awesome event, I remember seeing an old Ansett bus when I went over to MotorEx two years ago when I drove over, looks like very similar busses, how cool are they and the old trucks, tow trucks and fire engines, wow... love the footage, cheers mate
Thanks buddy, and then to have four of those busses visit was awesome, they sounded great as well. This event is only going to get bigger, can't wait to see what's installed for next year.
Hey bro, awesome video walk around, subscribed to ya! I remember seeing you walk past just after you got that photo with Dan, didn't know who you were but now I know haha
@@theveeman Haha I'll have to re-watch it now... Yeah that would be great, I'll come again next year and I'll be looking forward to seeing the P76 will also be hopefully coming over sooner with Dan and Phil so no doubt will catch up with you then.

Just supporting my boys at Mightycarmods. Believe it or not, i have actually chopped some good cars, they might have been shit drivers but chop is chop lol.
Alway was the sound with a 4 speed manual that made me like these cars . I like them in secret as people back in the day where intimidating about cars and sexuality and skin colour and such .
I do have a problem with my advance timing weight springs, as the timing curve is way out. I've got full advance at 1600rpm. 146hp is still keeping up with the big 3 as I'm not carrying all the weight.
I’m pleased to see the Leylands still running! Bloody great cars. My 318 mild CM Chrysler made 220hp at the wheels in which I didn’t think was to bad and that’s running a 500 edelbrock carby in which I think maybe to small?? What size engines are in the Leyland? They sure sound good and the green one made good hp! I noticed an efi set up on that! I wonder what CFM they’re equivalent to?
Standard they are 4 4L 269 ci. The green one has 173 20thou holden pistons flat tops, the Leyland have dished tops, with a nice cam ported heads Willpower 4bbl manifold.
That’s still a very desirable, uncomplicated Australasian saloon fifty years after its mishandled introduction. That engine is a little honey if it’s properly maintained.I remember when this model was first introduced, examples would rocket around and amazed with their superior dynamics compared with a Haitch G/Q ,or Chrysler Valiant of that era.A lost opportunity.I’ve rebuilt one of these engines from a jet boat that had been poorly treated. On re-entering the water again the driver usefully put away a competitor on a gnarly river. For what it was ,the alloy unit sound good revving out.
It has the holden 173 20th over sized pistons in it pumping up the compression, a wlillpower 4 bll manifold a healthy cam and mixed with the Fitech injection is a good combination. It still has room for improvement.
@@theveemanyeh everything has gone up hay, lucky I got the kit and the willpower manifold a few years back, will be interesting how much more HP i get.
Thanks Jim, they are an enquired taste to some. But we love em. Even with the lower power output the cars perform very well with the lighter body as compared to the big three. They only weigh around 1270kg so power to weight is pretty good.
1 fitted a P76 V8 in a 1974 Mazda 13B coupe, 3 sp Valiant manual and holden complete diff in 1978 ,got it engineered. Changed the laws in NSW. CAR WEIGHT NEVER CHANDGED, NO FEE!@@theveeman
I had the same problem on a well worked Gemini engine back in the early 90s, the rebuilt dizzy springs broke and the stock ones were WAY too light. After mucking about with different springs for a while but not getting it to work reliably I ended up going to an aftermarket optical ignition system that was adjustable and that fixed it. These days you'd just chuck the dizzy in the bin and go coil-on-plug, but this was years ago. Maybe something to think about if the trouble keeps happening. Cheers.
I never thought that I would like watching a car on a dyno, but these are really interesting. The cars sound tremendous and we all have great chat and learn a few things about our cars. I want my 4 barrel on for the next one.
Great video 🙂 A pity I kissed the drive 🙁 The missus and I had a chuckle at the pic of Nellie dog, our English Staffy x Cattle dog. She was a bit excited and loved getting pats on the day 😊
lovely vehicle - I fondly remember the P76 I restored way back in 1984 - Bold as Brass, engine mods to include HOLDEN 173ci PISTONS, 350 Holley and tuned length extractors and head work. My thrill with this car was out accelerating a well heeled businessman in his Brock Special - too bad that sort of treatment was so hard on the poor old BW35
I did the ssme back in the early 80s. Holden 173 pistons and the works. People didn't understand the car at all. And yea your right, blowing away the v8 fords and holdens as in the 308s and 302s at the time. Good memories.
Nice range of cars. I'm unashamedly old school, but it's good to see owners of modern cars modifying them. I'm not going to lie, that Coupe de Ville gave me a little tingle. I assume the boot was open at 0:13 to show off the 44 gallon drum 😉.
