I still have their first three albums from the very early 1970s in pristine condition BTW. They were deep on talent back then and never got their due. They seemed to get overshadowed by groups like War and EW&F. Had the pleasure to see them live at HU in 73. Monsters!
Mr.Purdie is one of my Favorite all time natural Drummers.. He plays “Big” Heavy on the Snare ,Pocket with appropriate “Grooves” I still play that Famous “ Hi -Hat riff ( end of Ooooh child by the Stair-steps) 😅
A few years back, late 80’s, I had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Perdie and his band at a venue that I did production managing for. His was a standout performance for me, what a joyous night it was.
Wow, I came of age in the late 60s and early 70s with this type of music and artist playing them. I know them all and have their LPs bless them all yes
When you grow up with every one of these musicians and have most of there albums it becomes the soundtrack to you're life and wouldn't have had it any other way. Not to mention tighten up bein one of my all time favourites, Full Respect to the kings.. 10/10
