Studied archaeology with an interest in military history. Remembering those who took part in military conflicts is important to me, as my family served in the military including one uncle who was a POW and another who lost his life after D-Day. I am a WW2 RAF re-enactor having been brought up by the Castle Bromwich aircraft factory, so I love anything relating to aviation, and enjoy attending 1940s events across the country. I am an amateur photographer and videographer and can often be found visiting places like historic and military sites, museums, the National Memorial Arboretum, or just being amongst nature. A very emotional watch but well worth viewing in its entirety as it is quite long - every victim of this atrocity is named - To Remember Them Is To Honour Them!
I believe he was at East Kirkby , Lincoln Aviation Heritage Centre on Bank Holiday May, during the WW2 Lancs and Tanks event, doing the George Formby tribute act. I took photos of him in front of the Mosquito aircraft. He is very good, hope to see him there again sometime.
Thank you Shaun for allowing us in Australia to be part of the service and remembering my father and all our men on the Lisbon Maru. The Memorial is beautiful and appropriate. Thanks to Steve and Rachel Denton, I was able to visit the Memorial in September and the experience was most profound. Absolutely heartbreaking that it has taken so long for our men to be acknowledged that no survivors are still living. Lest We Forget.
Thank you for the kind comment, it means alot that I am able to share the service video with anyone that could not attend during the service. By sharing this video online, more people may become aware of what happened during this tragic event and that history can be remembered.
