Funny how people can buy the G8+ for 70$ and it does more but they buy the PS Portal for 200$. I just got the G8+ and it’s perfect especially for 70$+ tax
hi, thank you for this great tutorial but I have a question, do I need two thumb drive for the back up and system software or I could just use one thumb drive for both back up and system software? Thank You!
I got mine in a few weeks ago. I've been using it with my s24+ and switch oled. I thought it would get me back into that platform, but it's not THAT good. It does have the best feeling in hand compared to any controller I've used. That includes Xbox series, ps5 dual sense, and switch pro. Especially when holding a device, specifically the switch. I know that might sound crazy but I like how wide it is. Gives me large psp vibes. Like the portal we SHOULD have gotten or the perfect hand-held accessory for the switch
@FamilyGeekery I honestly can't even do docked anymore on my 70" 4k tv. It doesn't look good to me. I'm tempted to sell it but I would also like to mod it once nintendo stops supporting it 🤷♂️
It really depends on the desktop. Most non-gaming desktops these days are under 300w for sure. Probably closer to 100-200. If that’s the case, yes it would run it. But you’d also want to calculate how long it would run. I just did a review on the Ecoflow River 2 Pro, that would definitely run a desktop longer. But it comes at a cost.
Also another question; do you need to have the computer running to press those buttons? for example, if I want to switch on the govee lights in the hall, do I need to have the laptop running in the background, or can it be switched off and Stream deck sends the command anyway? Thank you!
@@FamilyGeekery that's a bit of a bummer but it's understandable... using the app would be a bit silly as I already have a Govee App... but i get your point as there would be other things that I'd also try to control. Thank you again for all your information. much appreciated
How did you flcik between the two set of buttons? I want to buy the Stream deck but it's so expensive if you need to use 30 buyttons or something similar and then I saw that you switched between the govee lights controls and the other buttons... do you have a video on how to do that?
The Stream Deck allows you to have multiple pages, then I have buttons to navigate those pages. Either directly to a certain page, or “next page” “previous page”, etc
finally a Bluetooth controller works on PS Remote play! Now I'm convinced to get this upgrade as I was unsure whether it would work. (I got the Galileo G8 that's why.)
Thanks just cracked my screen on my MacBook pro m1 a few days ago by closing the lid on a USB hub with the metal part sticking out so it hit the screen just right to crack it. I already got it working with a HDMI to a TV but a small portable monitor would be much better. Thanks for the video
I used to buy a lot of "refurbished" PCs from Dell's refurbished store. Most of them looked like they were brand new. My guess is that Dell wanted them off their inventory so Dell called them refurbished and then lowered the price. There are all kinds of laws against selling something used and calling it new, but nothing against selling something new and calling it used.
Love the array of content, especially Apple products. I’ve got one for you: I have a 27” inch display port” cinema display and an 3rd gen 4k Apple TV connected via display port to HDMI adapter. Love having Apple TV playing off to the side in my office but here’s my issue, I can’t control the sound. The Apple TV remote has sound controls but it doesn’t control the cinemas sound, any suggestions?
Thanks for the message. Sometimes I feel my broad range of interests hurts the channel vs just sticking to one subject. I’m glad you enjoy the variety. As for your question, that’s a good one. I don’t think you can do anything about it on the screen itself. The only I can think of is to use a hdmi audio extractor and plug in some small amplified speakers with a volume knob. amzn.to/3Nqz62o
I dunno how to say this, but Intel Macs aren’t really supported that much anymore do you can’t do too much on on any Mac from 2018 anymore. 2020 and later Macs are better as they have Apple Silicon
@@FamilyGeekery yeah, as long as most apps are supported. Only reason I like Intel Macs is because they have BootCamp which lets you officially install windows on a Mac
Thank you! Bought a used Macbook and didnt realize the ssd was aftermarket. It died in school and I ended up opting for another one since it was in the budget but couldnt update the OS. I'll try your method!
Dang! NEW? For that low on Amazon? Bought mine! I wonder how much you got yours for, but mine totaled $371.25 (tax included). They now show it as "NEW". Though 128GB SSD that CANNOT be upgraded (soldered to MB) is disappointing, the price and specs make up for it! Plus, I just happen to have a 2TB Samsung EVO 980 Pro NVMe in an enclosure just waiting to be put to good use. The timing of your video couldn't be better for me as I just ordered a GPU for my Razer Core X a day ago and the native compatibility will be so much better than with my 2012 Mac Mini or 2012 rMBP. I'm not sure I'll ever need to upgrade ram to 64GB, but it's good to know that's an option for later if needed. Thank you!
I would be very tempted to pay $350ish for this MM 2018 if I didn't picked up a used one for $50 2018 i5 not too long ago. The problem I have with this compared to the older 2012 or 2014 MM is that you can't swap out the storage.
I forgot to mention in the video, but the original listing of the "renewed" model I bought does not show up on Amazon or Woot anymore. I linked the closest listing on Amazon (which is from Woot also) which is actually listed as Brand New. Sorry for any confusion.
