Great review -- I agree with a lot of what you said, especially about the simpler interface in BeatMaker 3. I think you need a 13 inch iPad to use logic for iPad well. And a lot of long train rides.
BM3 has been abandoned so even though it has it's merits it's basically two fingers up to their users. When I get an iPad Air 5 am switching to Logic. By the way what's the swing like in Logic - does it flatten the notes etc?
Can we connect power(charging) and to macbook at the same time?? coz there's only one usb-b type, so it looks like you can either connect to power or mac at one time!! hope u understand what exactly my question is!!
I've been wondering for a long time why the only brand I know that does low latency wireless studio headphones is AIAIAI... Especially since we've had low latency wireless audio for mics, instruments, and in ear monitors for a long time. Why tf isn't it super common for studio headphones? Or just headphones in general. Why are the only options basically only wired and bluetooth?!
I feel stupid because i never understood why anyone would want endless encoders, and then you explained it around 2:40 and im like "...omg... all these years... i never thought about this?" 😂
Interesting. I recentlly started using an old Ipad Air 1 for music. I use Koala Sampler and Beatmaker 3 and seems to work fine with those. What could cause me problems? Running out of storage? It only has 16 Gb but I also don't know how large savefiles are. They seem quite small. Maybe if I buy a lot of sample packs I would fill the memory?
Thit is certainly the best video about the XKEY. Except for one thing he left out and that is the polyphonic aftertouch. The manufacturer says it has it but no-one can get it to work.
Some questions: * When you record using a "virtual keyboard", does it show only one octave of keys, or can you show more keys at once so to speak? * The sequencer is described as a step sequencer. But surely you can record live too?!?
why doesn't a single review mention that the pads are made with Diisononyl Phthalate, which can cause cancer? i bought it used, so i never saw that warning before hand, but there is a warning sticker on the box.
I hope you check this. I have a MPC STUDIO 2 I just got 2 days ago. I need to know how to map some of the other buttons on the MPC to Beatmaker 3. I have the 16 pads already, and the buttons that correspond to the STOP,START,FORWARD,REWIND. But what do I map the other things to? Ex. Sampler, looper, step seq., etc. I would be so grateful if you could help me….Also, the lights are not on as well.
Really useful video! Was looking at this keyboard as a portable stand alone keyboard for doing live looping with my guitar and vocals. If I use any app for midi, it would probably be Garageband on my iPad for running tracks, so having those CC commands is pretty awesome
What do you think of Cubasis 3 for tablets? I think you can produce in this two programs with a good Ipad or tablet, and it's a good option for those who have a tablet for working. I think right now FL studio mobile have more actualizations making this points better nowadays, but I'm not shure. I'm trying to decide between this two programs. Thanks for the video :)
