I’m getting close on deciding the way I’m going to go with my cladding - however I have a technical question as to mounting the cladding in a vertical position. The fitting instructions and RU-vid video only show single joists spaced at 500 centres. If the cladding is fitted horizontally- then the joists are fixed vertically with airflow assured from the top to the bottom in between the joists. If the cladding is fixed vertically- then the joists are fitted horizontally and - this is where I’m getting confused- as there is no ability for air to pass by the first joist and as a result there is not airflow/ventilation as described in your instructions. Can you provide guidance or assurance on how best to proceed as this will help me order the correct quantities and stock.
The airflow would be provided by the 8mm gap between the cladding board and batten due to the cladding clips. You could however double batten if you wish but there would be sufficient enough airflow with the Ecoscape UK cladding clips as this also provides enough gap between each board to allow for expansion and contraction. What about the expansion limits if the boards are like 2.5 meters long? fixing them only with the screws doesn't leave much space for thermal expansion of the composite material though there might be some bending or popping sounds.

Looks like this has a huge security threat if the other side is an open area. Any person can remove fence boards easily as there is no proper locking mechanism between fence boards.
No security threat - you have option to secure the fence boards with our plastic holders and screw them in if you have concerns but we have had no issues with this before. The other option would be to secure the post caps down with adhesive. Hope this helps!

Hi, great video. I want to clad a ugly breeze block garden wall with this same product and would like to go 1 metre past the top of the wall and then clad the other side of the protruding posts ( ie clad on both sides above the top of the wall 1 metre). Is this possible with this product. I want to copy the look on page 37 of your brochure. Thanks👍
Our installation guide can be viewed here - ecoscape.co.uk/resources/slatted-cladding-installation.pdf We recommend lining the wall and apply subframe joists - if you wanted to create the illusion of a taller wall you have to make sure the wall and joists are stable enough. Hope this helps.
I am a pensioner sadly on a tight budget until the mortgage is paid. There were a number of concrete spurs holding the fence posts up when we moved in, I have only had to renew two and have put in quite a few since where we were missing some. I have about 30 panels in my garden so you can imagine it has been a lot of work. The trouble I have is the fence panels become brittle after awhile and the winds we have in our area either damage the panels or my dog jumps up at them and just puts holes in them with just his weight. Having looked around I love your composite fencing and with a little effort I could easily bolt or screw the posts with the aluminium insert onto the concrete spurs. When and if the spurs fail I then purchase a new aluminium post and concrete that into the ground. So my question is that this would be a job that I would need to carry out each month. money permitting. So can you purchase items in small numbers or have you got to purchase in one go? We both rather like the Charcoal Composite Fence Board. Regards Chris
