SoulEnquiry is an open ended invitation to explore the realm of the soul. In the spirit of humility, man has to admit the innate poverty of his own resources to truly let in the light of His Lord. For it is in the very realization of this innate neediness, this existential poverty, this “little”, that the abundance we seek can be found. As the Qur’an says:

If they should be (realized) in their poverty, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. [The Holy Qur’an 24:32]

SoulEnquiry seeks to provide resources such as Khutbas (Friday sermons), talks, articles, papers and courses that aid us all in sincerely enquiring into the nature of our being, to enter into that essential spiritual neediness that paradoxically gives us the abundance that we seek.

"So the adab around these people is that you greet them and then you beat it - get away from them because they have something, they're connected.." - this was actually really funny to hear, but so incredibly interesting and insightful at the same time (about the people of Allah)! I'm thankful for that advice, because I'm young and stupid.

Quran explained in details who Dhul Qarnayn was. Dhul Qarnayn means; a Ruler/Leader of Two Nations. Nation of Mankind and nations of Jinn kind. Qs.18:54. We have elaborated in this Quran for the people every kind of example, but the human being is a most argumentative being. tafsir al-Quran bi-l-Quran (explaining the Quran through the Quran). Similarities between Dhul Qarnayn and Prophet Sulaiman alaihi . Here is the list of similarities between the two characters. 1️. Kingship Only two Prophets were mentioned as King in the Quran. Prophet Daud and Prophet Sulaiman Pbut. Dhul Qarnayn was a king. Qs 18:84. Surely We established him in the land and granted him means of access to everything. Prophet Sulaiman Pbuh was also a King. Qs 27: 16. And Sulaiman was Dawood's heir and he said: O men! we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given all things; most surely this is manifest grace. Qs.38:35. He said, “My Lord, forgive me, and grant me a kingdom never to be attained by anyone after me. You are the Giver.”. Qs.38:39. “This is Our gift; so give generously, or withhold; without account.”. 2. Both were blessed with many great things to help them accomplish their tasks that was to spread the word of god. Missionary and travelled far and wide. Dhul Qarnayn - Qs 18:85. So he followed a way, 89. Then he followed a way. 91.And so it was. We had full knowledge of what he had. 92.Then he followed a way. Prophet Sulaiman Pbuh - Qs 21:81. And (We made subservient) to Sulaiman the wind blowing violently, pursuing its course by his command to the lands which We had blessed, and We are knower of all things. Qs.34:12.And for Sulaiman the wind-its outward journey was one month, and its return journey was one month. 3. Prophethood. Dhul Qarnayn - Qs 18:86, 87 & 88. Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it [as if] setting in a spring of dark mud, and he found near it a people. Allah said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness." Until when he reached the place where the sun set, he found it going down into a black sea, and found by it a people. We said: O Dhul-Qarnayn! either give them a chastisement or do them a benefit. He said: As to him who is unjust, we will chastise him, then shall he be returned to his Lord, and He will chastise him with an exemplary chastisement: And as for him who believes and does good, he shall have goodly reward, and We will speak to him an easy word of Our command. He said, "As for one who wrongs, we will punish him. Then he will be returned to his Lord, and He will punish him with a terrible punishment. But as for one who believes and does righteousness, he will have a reward of Paradise, and we will speak to him from our command with ease." This verse has the same meaning as in surah Yunus in which Allah Subhanallah ta’ala mentioned as; Qs.10:47. Every community has a messenger. When their messenger has come, judgment will be passed between them with fairness, and they will not be wronged. When messengers reached a community, they preached Allah’s word and established law and order. Shariah law. Prophet Sulaiman Pbuh - Qs 21:78 & 79. And Dawood and Sulaiman when they gave judgment concerning the field when the people's sheep pastured therein by night, and We were bearers of witness to their judgment. So We made Sulaiman to understand it; and to each one We gave wisdom and knowledge; and We made the mountains, and the birds to celebrate Our praise with Dawood; and We were the doers. 4. Both were able to understand many languages. Polyglot or multi linguistics is an asset for travellers. Dhul Qarnayn Qs.18:93. Until when he reached (a place) between the two mountains, he found on that side of them a people who could hardly understand a word. *Qs.14:4. And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. Prophet Sulaiman Pbuh - Qs 27:16 And Sulaiman was Dawood's heir, and he said: O men! we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given all things; most surely this is manifest grace. 5. Metallurgy They were both given the technology to manipulate both iron and copper! Dhul Qarnayn - Qs 18:96 Bring me blocks of iron; until when he had filled up the space between the two mountain sides, he said: Blow, until when he had made it (as) fire, he said: Bring me molten copper which I may pour over it. Prophet Sulaiman pbuh - Qs 34:10, 11 & 12. And certainly We gave to Dawood (Sulaiman’s father) excellence from Us: O mountains! sing praises with him, and the birds; and We made the iron pliant to him, Saying: Make ample (coats of mail), and assign a time to the making of coats of mail and do good; surely I am Seeing what you do. And (We made) the wind (subservient) to Sulaiman, which made a month's journey in the morning and a month's journey in the evening, and We made a fountain of molten copper to flow out for him, and of the jinn there were those who worked before him by the command of his Lord; and whoever turned aside from Our command from among them, We made him taste of the punishment of burning. 6. And both refused to accept gifts. Dhul Qarnayn - Qs.18:95, They said: O Dhul Qarnayn! surely Gog and Magog make mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute on condition that you should raise a barrier between us and them Prophet Sulaiman Pbuh - Qs.27:36, So when he came to Sulaiman, he said: What! will you help me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Nay, you are exultant because of your present. Allah knows best. And May Allah guide us to his straight path.

Salam ‘Alaikum, I have been trying to search for clear information about a specific Hadith, but to no avail; I need your help please. It is the Hadith of the Prophet (S) sending Mu’adh Ibn Jabal (RA) to Yemen and asking him how he will settle any disputes that may arise, to which Mu’adh replies that he will first use the Quran, and then secondly the Sunnah, and then his own reasoning (ijtihād) if nothing else can be found. This Hadith is mainly quoted from Sunan Abi Dawūd, but there it has been graded Da’īf by scholars such as the late Sheikh Al-Albani. My question is whether there is any version of this Hadith that is Hasan or Sahīh, and whether there are variant versions of this Hadith that lack the part about the Sunnah and retain only the part about the Quran & Mu’adh’s own Ijtihād (and if so, what is the source & grading of those Ahadith?). Apparently this report also exists in At-Tirmidhi, but I have no idea where exactly and what its grade is. I am therefore looking for a survey & conclusion of this Hadith as it appears throughout the Hadith literature, and whatever variant forms of it may exist (and if so, where so and how reliable are they). Thank you very much. Salam.

Can you do a presentation, if you have done the research though, on fintech? Tech companies now aren’t as reliant on natural resources? The book called The Four by Scott Galloway says this is one of the reasons that the tech companies are stock market bullet proof.
@SoulEnquiry
@SoulEnquiry 4 года назад
I have not researched fintech companies much. Most of my research is more on the broader underpinnings of the market in general, and the systemic or structural problems brought about by riba. Eventually with riba, the stock markets will collapse, so the idea of anything being stock market bullet proof is a false one.

Here is George Monbiot writing about land ownership laws: www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jun/04/tackle-inequality-land-ownership-laws tlio.org.uk/a-land-reform-manifesto-by-george-monbiot-1995/ Here he is writing about the World Trade Organization: www.theguardian.com/environment/2003/sep/08/wto.fairtrade6 As he alludes to in the article above, what is worse than the way the WTO is structured are the new (mostly bilateral) trade agreements (mostly with the US) that circumvent all local and international laws: www.monbiot.com/2020/06/15/sold-out/ www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/09/boris-johnson-trade-deal-us-chlorinated-chicken www.monbiot.com/2016/07/28/so-much-for-sovereignty/ All of these things Monbiot writes about, are an inevitable result of the trajectory of Riba's demand for perpetual growth. The US belongs to its corporations, and its money power, which wants and needs more and more markets for its growth.

Thank you for your comment. I do not know if it is available in UK, as its printer and distributor is in Malaysia. InshaAllah I hope to write again, maybe expressing in written form much of what I discuss in the series 'Story of Riba'. When I do get round to writing inshaAllah, I will ensure the new book has a wider distribution. Thank you.
