If i may ask... Im currently building a modest 1jz supra with the w58 (300hp if lucky)... I went with a dual friction clutch to replace the stock one which was worn. Its street and spirited driving with minimal track time (4x a year). Sintered iron 6puck/metal-organic type. Did i make a decent decision? Seems i have, but i rarely see those covered and not sure if the idea of them alone is a gimmick or the concept doesnt work as well as it may seem.
The TB’s look like a set of Webers👍 You said you upgraded the electricals and that’s a must, after having a 74 260 and having a few electrical bugs lol. My 74 was the exact same color as that 240.
Excuse Me Guys, But do ur homework....Yellow IS NOT the Cheapest Color!!! It's An option that's More Expensive & Rearer Like the Atomic orange, & Jet Stream Biue! Look It Up!!!!!!!🤬😡😎
This is 100 legit. Good work. This works on all suspension setups with the mc pherson front. All the suspension work I've done, I recommend new hardware when replacing suspension components. It's not always needed on Japanese cars but Nissan forsure need new hardware, lots of pinch nuts and years of driving seizes up hardware really bad. I have to re do my rear suspension on my r50 pathfinder and replace all the nuts and bolts for the trailing arms, upper control arms, shocks, and end links. Because the shop re used almost everything and I keep getting clunking in the rear from loose hardware. The nuts are almost all seized after being the used so I will have to cut most of this stuff out. I wanted to save my self from working on the ground at home yet again by taking it in to the shop, and they did a shitty job and then we moved. Now it's my job to do the entire job again. I did the entire front end myself at home after that experience. All new front suspension control arms ball joints complete struts with lift spacers added and anything with rubber bushings was replaced. I need these camber bolts to correct Slight positive camber on the front end after the lift. The car handles way better and turns tighter with the lift and camber angles but it wanders a bit above 40mph due to a/t wrangler tires and the positive camber. If it's windy it's hard to keep it straight honestly with my roof box acting like a wind sail 😂
Side note the r50 pathfinder is supposed to be a bad ass little rig. Ours has been a spoiled little brat soaking up tons of money and still breaking down and doing weird shit at the most inconvenient times. I'm a Toyota tech and a Subaru enthusiast. None of my yotas or roos left me stranded like this friggin Nissan.
He was right about the 6 puck, my act 6 puck lasted 12,000 miles, never seen abused, always daily. I switch to full face xclutch for longevity but will miss the stiff pedal effort
Great video, many thanks! I took my Suby outback to change the timing belt and they said they see coolant leak on passenger side ( behind Timing belt cover). I never had significant loss of coolant in the reservoir and the car is running very well. Shouldn't they perform coolant pressure test before I go for expensive head gasket replacement? Please help I don't want to spend $2.5K if it is not urgent!
Kinda funny, I absolutely love yellow Z06’s and am planning on buying one. It’s great that I’ll be able to save some cash by getting the colour I want! 😂
I'm about to dive into my 2006 2.5, really hoping to use your videos, this will be my first Engine rebuild, what specialty tools will I need and roughly how long does it take to get your heads planed and sent back? Thanks!!
How’d it go for you man? I just bought a 2000 2.5rs with leaking head gaskets and imma dive into it and refresh the engine for my first before It gets worse
@fernandomateo4572 Didn't go well, I lost my place to stay, car kept overheating, I had to sell it. Got a 2024 Forester now. No more issues, problem solved lol
not enough scenes of the build or engine bay!!!!! but good job on the build. I'm doing the k24 swap too and will make a few of my own videos. stay tuned
McLeod doesn’t make a sprung hub twin disc clutch at this time. I did discover Tilton ST-246 is a sprung hub twin disc. I need to contact them regarding my TKX. Due to solid hub floater plate chatter not being ideal for the street a sprung hub reports to be quiet below the 2000 rpm lite load.
