Sailing School located in Dallas Texas. We hail out of Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club and race J24s, J29s, VX Evos, and VX Ones. We specialize in basic sailing takes people from never being on a boat, to operating a boat comfortably by themselves. We strongly believe in developing fundamental sailing skills. To ensure unsurpassed instruction, Nationally recognized Certifications are available. We have a low Student/Instructor ratio. We only put two students on each boat (along with an instructor). This improves the learning curve and doesn’t waste your time by crowding the boat.
i was taught if a spinnaker is up and you get overpowered, you do the opposite, and turn downwind instead of upwind like you would with a jib. looks like they took the gust and turned upwind which will immediately lay the boat on its beam ends, and thats what it did.
Ive got a little 8' sailboat. My dad made it before he past. I wanted to take it out this summer, but the fires have white pass closed. Rimrock is just a few miles from me. Guess ill have to wait till next year.
I didn’t hear a command to jibe.. Only saw the spinnaker go up, then immediately watch the helm fall off forcing the sloppy jibe. Then the spinnaker fails due to the same unplanned jibe. The crew wasn’t ready, surprised peeps think this was their big moment to post here.
How do you like your Quantum sails? I bought a set and just used them once. Seemed To work well upwind. I like the mainsail much better than the North’s I have. Pete
@@SailDallasRacing I didn't get a jib, I have an almost new UK jib. I have two north mains and genoas. I noticed a difference in the sails, the older ones are better than the newer ones.
Nice work! The first time I broached, I didn't know what a broach was! It really got my attention. Got the captain's attention too (he was below... heh heh)
