The original mutant ninja turtle was a Japanese manga full of gore and darkness and the 4 mutant turtles were all wearing a red mask instead of each having their own special color. The fact this was aired as a show for kids is nothing compared to what all those poor souls would've suffered had they adopted the original work.

Nah, Buu is still worse. He wiped out the entirety of the Earth's population just so he wouldn't have to wait for a fight. And then as Kid Buu he destroyed several populated planets just for the hell of it. That means that if we *lowball* it, Buu's body count is in the BILLIONS. And ,mind you, the Buu Saga takes place over the course of *maybe* 5-7 DAYS. Whereas Utrom built up his rap sheet over the course of a thousand years. The intent is also a factor. Utrom Shredder wanted to rule everything with an iron fist and when he couldn't do that he decided to be the one to end it all. Buu did everything he did and would have continued destroying planets, solar systems and galaxies until he finally came across a God of Destruction; all because he was *bored* and was basically a walking natural disaster.
Its kind of hillarious how 1987 Shredder was just a goober and then 4Kids of all things counterbalanced him by creating an iteration that is a genocidal egomaniac and *easily* one of the biggest haters in all of fiction. And what's crazier is that basically every Shredder AFTER this show took *some* level of inspiration from it.
My teacher gave us 1 big simple ass assignment and classmate said i have C does that bring my grade down if i fail, she said it brings your grade from C to F- and we asked what if we get 100% she said it will bring your grade an D barley to C+..... So heres another little bit of info for this shredder. this man gave leo such severe ptsd he trash talked his own family and slash at splinter in a training match knowing full well splinter was still recovering? And thats not even including what he did to the villians he fought. It was so bad leo had to go on a self healing journey out of the damn country. Keep in mind this was AFTER the space fight when he was tried and sent to the frozen planet. So leo knows the shredder is gone gone but after that ass whooping and the fact leo was the one who found out the shredder was back the first time left this kid traumatized.
The 2000's turtles when so hard. Shredder in it was one of the most competent villains in any cartoon at the time. Completely ruthless, destructive, manipulative and chaotic. I adored the 2000 remake. I even was one of the people suggesting him when he added the first villain from a cartoon series instead of an anime.
It's crazy how didactic Gohan's PTSD is, like he just wants to have a quiet life and everyone else in his life wants something from him, and none of them take into account what he actually wants lol. Everyone's constantly cracking on him for not training, and the dude has a solid couple of decades worth of psychological and physical torture that _fully_ justify his desire to hide out at the crib. And then on top of it, all the fans ever seem to want is the old Gohan, the Gohan that was still freshly traumatized. The man can't get a break, not in his own show OR this world lol.
