Hola Criss, te recomendamos que eches un vistazo al trabajo que en los últimos años han hecho investigadores como Morgan Pratchett, Maria Byrne, o Sven Uthicke (junto con sus estudiantes). Saludos.
@10:22 "...us and our closest relative...". Not mine! I have nothing to do with that! If you came from the monkeys that is your deal. LOL! There is absolutely no proof of that statement!! It's a thesis!!! That process (DNA methylation) might explain a little about the so called "global warming" which is actually a natural cycle that happens through the centuries and it simply wasn't reported in the past. The expression is just a political way to move money around and using scientific media as a tool. Adaptation isn't total transformation at all. It's modification. Poor Darwin, in that picture. He would be pissed off if he knew you are affirming monkeys are our closest relative!
Only 123 views. How horrendous. At least as bad is the absurd prejudice towards blaming climate change for the death of forests (to the extent it is even admitted they are dying). Forests are endangered in a close parallel to reefs, from deforestation and pollution, both of which are well documented. But the obsession with CO2 - funding and ideological - overwhelm those existential threats so nothing is done. Thank you Prof. Jackson for speaking the truth. victorhm21 LOL! Acidification is a growing issue but it isn't the reason coral reefs are dying now - just like climate change isn't the reason - YET - that forests are dying...that honor goes to logging and pollution. I posted Acid Test in 2009: witsendnj.blogspot.com/2009/10/you-cant-fish-and-not-have-hope.html - Hm let's do a google search and see how many times I've written about the problem of ocean acidification...www.google.com/search?q=witsendnj+ocean+acidification&oq=witsendnj+ocean+acidification&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64.15979j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=119&ie=UTF-8
gail zawacki The reason I wrote what I wrote is because the tone of your comment sounded much like that of a climate change denier. I intended for you to take my comment as a friendly reminder, so my apologies if you didn't take it that way. I agree with you (and Prof. Jackson) in that overfishing and pollution are a greater threat to reefs now than climate change, and if we have to prioritize actions to solve the coral reef crisis, those should be the main things we should address first. As far as I'm concerned we're all on the same team :)
victorhm21 I can see in re-reading my comment how you might get that impression from what I wrote. I am no climate change denier, in fact, I am probably far more pessimistic about the future based on changes to the climate than most who do accept AGW as a reality - please visit doomfordummies.blogspot.com/ - the Apocalypsi Library at the End of The World!
