They often closer to 40t But if you want them to not bother you then all you have to do is use cruise control when youre on the highway If youre consistently going slower then they will overtake you and leave you alone If youre on a country road then maybe just find a place to pull over and let them pass if you dont feel like going faster or just dont want a truck riding your bumper It doesnt take much time, they have places to be because its their job Truck drivers don't get mad at slow drivers, they get mad at unpredictable driver or inconsiderate drivers

This line of work has no future. It’s not like anything it used to be prior to deregulation. Pay is bad, long periods on the road, devastating for those in a relationship or with young family. And truckers are looked down as a whole, no gratitude for the vital service they provide. For me it’s different. I’m retired, kids are grown, wife is passed on and just started in OTR with a mega carrier. My intention is to start a hotshot business once I get a feel of the road life. Thanks for the post.

I cant believe i keep wasting my time watching all these worthless RU-vid videos about trucking. Nobody ever talks about the absolute disrespect and abuse we take from shippers and receivers. They dont stick to appointments and they take hours to do a 15 minute job of loading and unloading a truck. Detention pay and layover pay is a myth. If you do get it you never get all of it. You dont even know how much was paid to you because the money is sent to your company and then they take most of the money. There is no transparency! Why doesnt anyone ever complain about the shippers and receivers? The trucking companies dont even care what their drivers are going through. When you complain they always say that the other drivers aren't having any problems. And there is no driver shortage problem. It is a driver retention problem!
@survivorneerstrucktalk

@@survivorneerstrucktalk yes. We are the companies biggest promoter or their biggest downfall. Today everyone is pretty much on the same pay level if your a company driver. O/O is a different story. So company drivers all about make the same today. It's the benefits package they offer and how the implement pay raises. Ie. If you work for let's say R&L carriers and are making a base rate of $32/hr with blue shield everything but only get two weeks of vacation till you have 10 years in and a 1% pay raise a year and Pitt Ohio is offering the same but with 4 weeks of vacation and a 2% pay raise a year where ya going? I'm at Crete. I think. You used to work there from what I remember. Even over here, though were they claimed they're the best, they still have their flawhen. The bottom line is not the driver. Only profit.. I don't like their policy where they don't pay the Truck driver if he is going on home time and his last move with his trailers to get his trailer to the next loading spot before you bob tail home that is unpaid. Even if it's a 100 or 200 miles or more, it is unpaid miles.Even though you're doing it for the company. I don't know if this is a common practice with all companies but it's a rip off

Ok.. where to begin..🙄 No.., Pride is not for "everyone".. NO company is.. But "allow" me to relate "my" experience with Pride.. 1) In my THIRTY SIX years of experience, Pride is hands down the best company I've ever been with.. I've been here for 8.5 years.. longer than anyone else in those 36 years.. 2) I am in my THIRD "brand new Peterbilt 579.. The longer you are there, the better it gets.. 3) I GET ALL THE FREAKIN MILES I can handle.. in fact, sometimes TOO MANY.. Everything I own, look at, sit on, shit in, sleep on, live in, is "paid off".. So I don't "need" 3000 miles a week.. I get 2200-2600 every week, and that's fine with me.. Yes, I have also talked to a few Pride drivers who "were'nt getting enough miles", but "I got 99 problems, and that ain't one".. ALL companies experience "up & down" periods with loads, re-bidding, etc.. Pride is no different.. What I CAN tell you, is that the load planners, HR, Payroll, and MY "dispatcher" (DM to ya'll younger peeps) are the best I've ever worked with.. Our "deadhead" percentage is probably less than 1%.. (..know what that means?) It appears that the gentleman who made this "review", had only 1 major thing to not be happy about, and that is "miles".. I understand..(!) Like I said, Pride is not for everyone.. It also appears, that he is more concerned with becoming a "You Tube Star"..😂 (..all that "studio" equipment ain't free..)(..that "Mother Trucker" dude ring a bell?) I'm sure you've all heard the term "steering wheel holder" vs "trucker"... Well, this is a Prime (no pun intended) example.. I get A) "Detention" B) "Layover" C) "quick reimbursement" for "pay to park" if needed.. All without having to ask.. Yeah, you might get more miles with Crete, (but you will never drive a Peterbilt, or Kenworth),;Werner, or a dozen other companies..(?) But I know for a fact, there are many Pride drivers who gross $80-$90k a year..(how much home time you need??) He did'nt even mention that.. I gross about 65k, and am off 6-7 WEEKS a year.. (but like I said, I don't NEED to make 85k..lol).. Also, FYI, Pride was "Carrier of the Year" (?2022?) for Schreiber Cheese, the largest "Privately Owned" Dairy goods company in the US, and in 2023, for "Hershey" (no explanation needed on them, huh?), out of ALL the different carriers that haul for each..( a LOT..) To put it simply, I choose to drive because I love it, not because "I just needed a job that I thought would be easy".. I just thought I'd "counterbalance" a few positives with the negative.. I too played "musical trucking companies" when I was younger.. All trucking companies have their strengths, & weaknesses.. "Do for YOU" No matter who it's with.. He did get one thing absolutely right tho.. "team driving sucks ass"😂😂😂
