Did you find because you had that shallow yellow area near you, you had lots of kids close by? I'm wondering if it's worth requesting a room away from the shallow bits.
Hi! I actually only toured this hotel. I didn’t stay in any of the rooms, so I’m not sure. But if you really want to be away from kids, their over-water-villas are in an adult-only section.

Everyone is welcomed to visit with open arms. All we ask as Guatemalans is to please clean after yourself. We limit the amount of tourist in Tikal for the purpose of protecting & keeping the area clean. And yet everyday there’s still trash left by tourists. And another thing, please don’t move here. There is already a presence of Gentrification and it’s gotten worse. People who say “they’re benefiting the community” are lying 90% of the time. They have businesses that don’t even hire the locals & dismissing our culture for their own. And the “donations” is literally just throwing money at the situation which doesn’t help. Like you’re helping alleviate the problem but you aren’t helping solve the problem. Please, don’t move in. We are alreading helping ourselves but we aren’t there yet. Please, in your own country there are cheaper places to move. Don’t buy summer houses here either for vacation or try to be slick by paying a third party. We KNOW. Our home will always be open for everyone. Please don’t take advantage & destroy our home

My GF and I booked this exact room after watching this video and it was WELL WORTH IT!!! We slept with the balcony door open the entire cruise and the tranquil sounds of the waters were beautiful!!!
