You shouldnt review cars if you dont have a clue about it. You dont see the money they took to develope the car? 😂🤦♂️ The whole productionquality, the reliability cost a fortune if you built a car in this quality! Beside this, the W140 was the first car with an CAN Bus System. No car had so much electronics up to a electric motor powered rear mirror. So there flow no money to the W220 developement. The price they invest by developing this car you feel in its superiority. Thats why those cars can run easily over 500.000 km and still looking and feeling good, as long you maintain it. And another indicator for its heavy development costs is the development time of about 10 years till first production!
W212 is the ugliest E series ever. When I first saw I was shocked. It was more uglier than a korean car. W211 is the best ever and the newest versions are also extremely ugly.
E38 my absolute dream car , I owned one for a few months. It was in very bad condition, everything was broken but maybe one day I’ll get one in better condition 🫠
I had a cls500, i now have an 08 e350 and an 07 s65 amg and other than the looks i like my e class better than the cls i used to own, even with the s65 i still really appreciate my w211
I had a W210 E430 4m and boy it was a blast to drive and work on. Sadly a deer tock it and now I'm looking for a new mercedes and I don't know if its worth getting a W211 but I really want one for the looks.
I used to own 2007 R320CDI. The most comfortable family car I owned. Gas mileage on road trips was 32-35 mpg. Sadly, it was totaled :( CDIs are pretty rare to find, especially with low mileage.
Former 2011 R-class owner here. The mistake Mercedes made was their weird marketing for the car. IF they had sold is as eg: An S-Class Estate and classed up - it would have sold better. Or just call it a lifted wagon. Some features were barely mentioned - eg: the third row (which were bigger than most third row seats out there today). They tried to invent a class and failed - the car itself was much better than you make out. I had the BlueTech engine which did have it's share of issues (never left me stranded but lots of niggling problems) but the car itself was great - it even handled well - eg: phenomenal brakes. It also towed like a champ - I pushed the limits of the tow package (my boat on trailer was about 3100 pounds) but it was the best tow vehicle I've owned (vs previous MDX, Highlander Hybrid, and long ago a Toyota SR5 pickup). It could do anything - TONS of space and cargo capacity, could seat 7 (or 6 adults), tow, got great fuel economy. Now the negatives - it WAS weird looking. I ad the 2011 that had a much better looking front end - but from certain angles the car looked like a beached whale. With a minor design refresh (eg: Make the roof flatter and have more angles) it could have been a great looking car. Long post - but if you go onto MB forums and search the R-class, you'll see that the people who loved it far outnumber the actual owners who didn't.
Basic audio in w213 is horrible, my old Mondeo was much better. Climate control and entertainment system are visually nice, but comparing with budget limusine Skoda Superb 3 everything in Mercedes is complicated like in space ship, lagging sometimes and is non intuitive...
W213 interior is so much better. Both cases V6 diesel may be better choice then R4. W212FL front is nice but only front, estate both looks very similar.
I stopped watching this video like around 2 weeks ago. When I did I actually was watching due to me going to purchase a 2004 E500 sedan as a project vehicle! Now I come back to this video and I should say, What an amazing vehicle. Coming from owning only Nissan/Infiniti what a fantastic handling car! I fixed an airmatic sensor and it’s riding pretty level planning on getting all 4 struts and pump replaced, As per taking it to the dealership for the SBC pump replacement (free no cost) as It’s randomly throwing a “Brake malfunction” I’ve put around 2K miles in it already it’s sitting at 210K miles got it for a steal! Too
Hello, i have W140 SEL600 from 1992. I restored it completely and i am Interrested in a W140 Disc server or Group where we can Chat about repair or spare parts
Mine E Class E240 W210 Year 1999 Right Hand Drive. Been searching high and low for parts like interior panelling, and others. Any help is really appreciate.
I have a W 210 1998 4 matic desert silver, 146 k miles look Gold. But in pristine condition. New battery, filters oil and transmission change. New rotors, brakes on all fours wheel caps. Valve body and blower fan resistor . And it feels like 1998 all over again. I got married I n 1997 and in 1999 I brought a 1998 E-320 rear driven mercedes in gold. it's now 27 years later and I have the same can again only a 4 Matic. It looks better than new. Only because I have a history of it and knowing world wide many still enjoy this amazing vehicle. Not only a car. But Taxi, Police vehicle, Emergency vehicle and the reliability most are one car owners when you find them used. It's a 27 year old car. When I'm on the road most vehicles slow down just to cruise next to me to reminisce of years gone bye. And I just say to my self. I have a car I can past on to my grandkids. Yes a legend the 210 tank. Parts are cheaper now and RU-vid has videos to help you do and understand the work you would otherwise take to a dealer to do. It's fun to learn how easy and accessible things are to work on or change. Plus the fact of know you did the work. It's like your name is on the engine plate of the car. So if I could post a picture. I'm sure you'd agree. Man that so nice. Even the newer models bow and honk their horn. Last of the best before the face lift. 1998 E-320 4 matic with phone. Yeah Baby. 6/9/24 Oh did I mention I'd [ick it up for 4300.00 a 50,000.00 vehicle. which the value will go up. can you say Classic?
The M139 in the new C63 is bullet proof. It is one of the most reliable turbo 4 cylinder on the planet. However, it should not have been in a C63. It works excellently for a CLA 45.
Agreed, also the nomenclature of C63 needs to go away after the M156 engine was discontinued. I don’t agree with putting “63” on everything even if it is only 4.0L ….
Remember that at this time bmw developed the silver seraph and there is a non zero chance this was one of the mules for that program. Much of this prototype mirrors what is produced in the seraph. Bmw has a history of rumormongering a 9 series which has always been a rolls. Inside, the shapes and proportions of this car mimic the seraph. Too, the engine is close to that 6.75 number rolls cares so much about.
Hey, just to put things in perspective: from 2016 to 2023, Mercedes-Benz sold a total of 443,109 GLEs. Meanwhile, BMW sold 62,777 X6s during the same period. That's nearly 8 times more GLEs than X6s. Mercedes is clearly dominating in this segment!
In 4 days I am going to buy my first Prado 120. 3.0 Diesel V6, 2008 for exactly the reason you described. I live in the south of the EU where the roads are in a catastrophic state - potholes and retarders at every corner. I'm changing to a Tesla and I can't wait! I enjoyed your video and the enthusiasm from Prado was very authentic! All the best! 👍 PS: I'm just afraid that I made a small mistake.. I told my girlfriend that she will sometimes be able to drive Prado and now after watching your video I'm thinking how to take my words back.. 🤣
It’s a great car for what it is. And the fuel cost is 50X lower than my G wagon. It’s really quiet, beautiful, and very comfortable ride. Nothing else comes close at this price point.
