Hey there! Just stumbled upon your video and I really appreciate the insightful strategies you shared. It's interesting how the theme of growth and progress aligns with the messages of perseverance and determination that I often discuss on my Christian channel. Your tips are incredibly helpful, and I've already hit the like button and subscribed for more valuable content. Keep up the fantastic work!
I like the attitude that we are providing a "transfer of confidence". If we are truly confident in a product or service, telling our contacts about it is not harmful or manipulative. Let's operate "in service to" people rather than "at the expense of" people. That's pretty guilt-free for me. What do you think?
Hey man! Great job and a great video for crossing the finish line! You should be really proud of this. Looking forward to seeing what you continue to do in the future :)
Looking forward to the next year! You’re an inspiration to me as well! My main channel is RU-vid.com/@yourredeemedlife, and I’m on a similar journey, and I’d be down to collaborate with you!
Hello Jonathan, Great list. In the modern times one person of significance would be Makoto Fujimura (who was also a friend of late Dr. Keller). Mako has made great contributions on the area of art and faith. BTW, just found out about your channel and am enjoying it. Subscribed :) God bless you brother.
Amazing video. Your 100% right about successful creatives still having that looming anxiety that beginners do, but they want to share and create so much that it overpowers their fear.
You understand! Please accept this value: You have the assets to be very successful in this arena or other avenues that touch the lives of those around you.
Dude, same! The thoughts in this video have been a game changer for me: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IxPGwSh22IA.htmlsi=aqhudUbhkDMKbOev
Be careful of burnout. I recommend you take a breath at the 30-day mark. We will still be here when you catch your stride again after some recharge time. This is another solid video BTW.
I was trying to learn a second language. A fast way to progress was to immerse myself in conversing with native speakers. Of course, no native speakers were impressed. A desire for greatness as a communicator helped me to be willing to humiliate myself as a novice in a new language. Loved your explanation of this concept.
I've been enjoying your insights on other videos but this one made me subscribe. You really nailed this topic. I am researching and writing for a video I will release in February that has a very similar take on the complexity surrounding comparing ourselves to others. I thought I knew what I was going to say but the more I dig into the subject, the less I'm sure of. I agree with what you said here and I would love to get your feedback when I finally get my thoughts in order. Keep up the good work.
This was worthwhile. We do a lot of talking about the passions and warnings there, but every passion comes from a good place that is simply corrupted. Anger can come from a good place 👍 Thanks for this. Gonna refocus this week on something making me mad.
This video feels like a great example of exactly what you speak about. As I am viewing it you have 1.1K views. I predict that it will continue to attract an ever-increasing audience. Thank you for your wisdom.
So almost people want to be looked as the artists. Do you ? Personally not quite for me. I like listening to music as I would act like writing all songs I am just listenint to them. And I feel all people seem to be angry as if they are insisting like they are their songs. It is so weird actually I feel that way so vividly. But it is true. So I should be angry because I 'm the one doing all that as a matter of fact. Actually I am little much angry on them about the way all music is originally theirs. The truth is I don't care. I look myself going like super dry. They insist anyway and so do I. It would never be ending. That is the answer. By the way listening to music and you feel the colors, right ? That is the skill unfortunately I don't have. I can feel the colors while listening to music. I think that is sort of art too. You should be angry. If I have an occation sometimes to feel whatever, I 'd like to pretend like I don't care. There is no way avoiding that after all. I just don't wanna lose precious time just to be angry.
So often my ambitious creative endeavors get thought of as "works." To which I respond, "yes!" We agreed to be in the vineyard until sundown. We agreed to pick up our cross. We told Jesus we would invest our talents. He's coming back some day and wants to see what we've done with what He gave us. Do everything you do to the glory of the Lord.
I love the thought that I’m Heaven one day, no one will care about how many followers they have or how many likes… it’s just going to be humans living in loving community with God and each other. ☺️ love this video topic!!
This was a timely video for me. I’ve been putting off my Fiction novel, been stuck at 27,000 words the last few months. Yesterday, I pushed past some really dense chapters I was dreading. Now I’m at 34,000 words and I’m hoping to double that by the end of the week. You’ve got my sub!
Hey man, just wanted to encourage you to keep going! You're over halfway done with the 30-day challenge and you're doing great. I really enjoy seeing the way you weave entrepreneurship, creativity, and faith-based conversations into your videos. Can't wait to see tomorrow's video! Also, it'd be really cool when you finish this challenge to have playlists broken into those three different domains that you're covering and you can put the end cards of each video linked directly to the next one in the playlist. This'll help your audience retention so viewers and subscribers don't have to go to your page to look for another video or hope that RU-vid puts it up in their top line of browse videos when they go to RU-vid homepage. I know you have a lot going on doing a video per day, so please don't sweat doing this right now (Can't emphasize this enough, just keep going with the making of the videos, you're doing great).
Yes! Thank you! These are all good thoughts. My plan is to clean up the channel a bit, create some playlists, and link videos once I have a bit more time to spare. I appreciate all your encouragement!
Theres an interesting difference between promoting yourself as the creator and promoting your creation. To take the creator's ego out of it, and push content based on the identity and worth of the content itself, to people who may connect with it, is okay? Yea? But I feel 'self-promotion' is often negatively labeled to auto-dismiss any share of original work. I certainly struggle with this in my creative pursuits. On Reddit, for example, there exists a bevy of communities centered around really niche concepts. If I as a creator, find a community that clearly resonates with a work, and I put out my original content into these communities, leaving myself out, I am still more-often-than-not shunned for self-promotion. Mods delete the post and no one sees something that caters directly to the community they're a part of.. But if someone else (third-party) were to share the same content in these communities, would the reaction be the same? Think about that.! I'm confused why consumers loathe people trying to share their hard work, and yet all-the-time knowingly interact with clickbait, pot-stirring, and creators who use media for their own ingratiation and for their own riches. Sure it would be noble to click "publish" and leave my work's fate solely up to the RU-vid algorithms... but what is so wrong with asking someone else to check out a piece of new/struggling content if they might enjoy it? Posts like "get me to 5000 followers" or " I JUST RELEASED A NEW VIDEO, CLICK THE LINK ! CLICK THE LINK!," are NOT the same as "I made a piece about xxxxx and its relevant because yyyyy so if you're interested, please check it out..." but they all get tagged with this vile 'self-promotion' and effectively, I feel, it's almost helpless to take initiative in advertising your content on platforms that are already so heavily saturated.
Hi Jonathan, I am a filmmaker that has been beat down by worrying about finances and has found myself in one of those jobs you describe where I hate it but feel trapped in it for financial reasons. Since it's also a creative role, it drains me of any fuel for my personal projects. I have hit quite the wall but your kind words were powerful and inspiring. Thanks!
You're right, I am here to say that you can dunk a basketball! You just need to barrow the the extending stilts that are in the newest video on the Stuff Made Here RU-vid channel.
@@videosbyjtm you’re welcome! I’ve been enjoying your videos this month and I’m looking for to more! Unfortunately I’ve been away from the know of maker stuff so I can’t recommend anything practical for Judah to learn how to make stuff like that (but on an age appropriate scale).
Hey man, I know it's a grind to put out these 30 videos in 30 days. You're doing great. You've already doubled your subscriber count since I first saw one of your videos on Browse two days ago. Keep it up :) You're doing great! Your point about doing this from a place of the gospel showing us why our lives have meaning and what life is about is great. My wife and I have had a lot of discussions around Genesis 1-3 and one of the most controversial stances we have amongst Christians is that this world has the potential to be the best possible world God could have created, and still has that potential. This stems from a long argument of humans having free will, and that freedom of choice as being the ultimate good that God could create in beings created in his own image. As beings with free will we can choose good or less than good, but the greatest good can only ever come from a being with free will. Then, when Jesus comes around (39 books later) he drops multiple messages that all ultimately stem from "there is no greater law than this: Love the lord your God with all your heart, mind, and spirit, and strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself" The act of love requires free will, love cannot be conscripted or forced. Anyways, off my soap box, I think you had a great point about the way we live our lives and why creation is not just a fun hobby, but a holy mandate from God. I look forward to tomorrows video :)
Your thoughts resonate on the constant theme that as Christians identity is rooted in Christ. Identity in Him provides fellowship, hope, security, worth, and significance. Working through 1 Corinthians, this really comes forward. Great Stuff!
This was such an important message. Make it less about "MY" work and what is the value to the viewer/client/customer. Thanks for the reminder and insight.
