Hello everyone! I'm RandomBystanderHere! I'm a random bystander who is here to talk to you about everything related to Nintendo and gaming. I focus on reviewing Nintendo games, and discussing topics relating to Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Xenoblade, and all of the classic gaming franchises.
Well in all fairness, scalpers ruined the PS5 for everyone, including the scalpers themselves... ...I did not shed any tears of pity for the scalpers...only tears of laughter and ridicule.
HOLY SMOKES! I GOTTA GET MY CLAWS ON THIS GAME! Horror Games are very underappreciated! Emio The Smiling Man looks freaking horrifying but I wanna play! The English dub you did... holy smokes it was awesome! Good work, Random! Good job!
I'm honored to have lent my voice to this video, and I love the end result! Kudos to the other actors as well! I'm a big fan of detective stories, so I'm definitely going to pick this up (although I did catch a bit of your stream as well). It's also cool to see Nintendo branching out, taking a gamble on something relatively new (at least for non-Japanese audiences) and have it pay off.
I typically don’t play detective games but this one seems cool, def will try it out once I can afford it Edit: def wasn’t expecting that English dub you put in woah that was so well done, good job to everyone involved
Man, that English dub that you put in there sounded so professional! If it was that easy for a RU-vidr or two to manage, it makes me wonder what Nintendo's excuse was... I wish I could enjoy this game, but when I played the demo, it was hard to know what I was supposed to do. Still, I'm looking forward to the day when Nintendo allows RU-vidrs to talk about the story so that I can experience who that Smiling Man is! Keep up the good work!
My dad gave me the option to choose an Xbox series s or a switch before The Xbox increase The price, I chose the switch, I don't regret at all(◍•ᴗ•◍) The portable is the best thing I would want in a console that runs good stuff and mostly The Indie games
Those are some great examples of demos! My personal favorite is Dragon Quest 11 S, which had a ridiculous amount of content, and even included the orchestral versions of the songs! I also think GameFly could be a good alternative to a demo. Sure, you have to pay a monthly fee, but you get to keep the full game for as long as you want, and if you don't like it, send it back, and binge another game! I suppose the downside is that it only works on physical games, but wouldn't it be cool if Nintendo's next system had demos for every digital game as the new standard?!
I really need to try Dragon Quest 11! I am more excited to try 3 soon though! I know you mentioned GameFly before, one of the very few gaming renting places left. Not a bad way to try out games
The way I smiled at the mention of Miitopia. The demo is the way I got into it, it's really fun! The potential for laughs is endless since you pick the cast as you go. Definitely a game I recommend.
I haven't even brought a PS5 yet. Especially since I now have a gaming PC. But even then I play with my Switch most of the time. It's funny because ten years ago back when the console wars were The PS4 vs. Xbox One the idea of Nintendo beating them was laughable. It's impressive how its turn around. I think one reason is inflation. Nintendo is cheaper than PS5 and XBOX and the fact you can bring it anywhere but also connect it to the TV is awesome. I can bring to a hotel and hook it up. It's just a great idea as a whole.
I think in today's age demos should be more prevalent. It's not like we can rent games anymore. I've definitely bought several games after playing a demo
Demo stations were truly fantastic. They were the reason I managed to play Hyrule Warriors and Luigi's Mansion (that one was in a McDonald's, of all places!)
Very happy that Nintendo survived after Wii U. Bought Switch to play Mario Odyssey. Everything else I game on PlayStation. For me, there was always Nintendo and PlayStation vs Xbox and not PlayStation vs Nintendo vs Xbox. Bro, Switch was released like 3.5 years earlier than PS5 :D. Switch sold 1 billion games, PS4 sold 1.6 billion in the same lifespan.
Personally, i dont think nintendo necessarily won the console war. I think xbox and playstation dominated gaming for a years. I think nintendo is now in a spot where it dominates the gaming market. PS and Xbox going downhill now compared to the switch that seems to keep selling these days. Especially with your average person not being a hardcore gamer, they prefer games that are quirky and easy to play and playable with friends.
Are you joking me buddy Nintendo is the king of consoles , xbox and playstations for losers plus nintendo's older and they make by better games So stop pretending like you think nintendo is some kind of trash console
Yay glad to see this up, it was such a delight to watch you play the game, even if some of it was full of suffering. Glad the game gave Rusty Bucket Bay the most bopping theme because that's all it has going for it haha
For my opinion, console wars won Nintendo and Valve (they both have great portable devices with huge amount of good games). Playstaion and Xbox have great consoles, but no games on it.
Banjo-Kazooie was really a great game, but that board pre-final boss was hard for me who had to rent and didn't have time to notice those seemingly innocuous details
That level with the underwater shark gave me so much anxiety! I stopped playing rare replay for so long before going back cause I’d have nightmares of that shark lol 😆
Is it just me being a such a boomer, or is gaming these days much less about impressing the public with better graphics and bleeding edge technology, and much more about making half-assed games to publish them as quickly as possible, only to then fill them up with DLC's? This alone makes modern consoles less interesting than retro consoles, and it's the reason why indies are much more successful, because indies still have this "let's experiment with this cutting edge technology" type of mindset. Watered down from what we had in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's, but still more effort than what AAA studios are willing to put in.
I actually don't think the Switch is even part of the console wars anymore. The return of cartridges, ignoring the focus on graphics, ignoring the focus on trying to be a multimedia system and/or cheap gaming PC. It's pretty clear that Nintendo doesn't see Sony and Microsoft as competition, and neither do Sony and Microsoft see Nintendo as competition, and the fans of any of the big 3 even subconsciously echo this. This puts Nintendo more in line with Value, which too doesn't see itself as a competitor in the console wars, and neither do any of its "competitors", even though they run Steam, and even have a Steam Deck.
This is one of those games that could do with a proper remake, much like what we got with Spyro or Battle for Bikini Bottom. I'd imagine that modern controls and quality of life features would make even Rusty Bucket Bay less painful. Also, that melon joke made me choke on my water! I love your sense of humor!
Must... stop myself... from fanboying too hard... Childhood self, please shut up during this comment... I really enjoyed your fair take on this game. It's great to see a newbie's perspective helping folks not get too caught up on the "It was great for its time" argument. Also, your genuine reactions were some of the best things I've ever seen on your Twitch! Some of my favorites were your shock from discovering that Mumbo only transforms you in the spring, not knowing about the quiz show and the difficulty spike in the final battle were genuinely hilarious! That being said, I'm glad that you at least enjoyed this game! Hopefully, it'll make playing as them in Smash feel all the more special and rewarding! Oh, and thank you for that bit about killing Snacker with the Wonderwing! Somehow, that idea never crossed my mind! I've been able to defeat him once with pooping out Eggs, but now I have a new strategy when trying to get... that Jinjo... in Treasure Trove Cove!
As a family, we have 1 ps5, got it years after release. We have around 4 games for it, maybe a couple more. By contrast we have 4 switches, bought years after release and over time. And have 60 plus hard copy titles. So yeah, a little bias for the N, but I feel justifiably so, it’s a great system.
