Andy!! My pit boss Austin XL is 5 years old at this point. Some of the modifications are on their newer models. I’ve done a couple more modifications since this video. Thank you for checking out this video!!!
@@thisgrilllife7447 I am in the UK (the Northern Ireland part of) and pit boss is hard to get here. What mods dids they pick up out of interest, did you get a fee for your hard work? lol
Thank you Brad!!! And thanks for the feedback!! If you are into grilling, the @thisgrlllife BBQ Community on Twitter is a a great place to find a lot of information and support. Great people and not a toxic environment.
Great Additions. The only thing I would add is a magnetic paper towel holder. You can stick it up under the front tray or side tray. And then of course a trash can is always handy.
ohh yes that is a treat i love taking poblano peppers to the grill. to get that char. a great pepper imo if the seasoning is right. cumin is a nessasary ingredient that many beginners fail to incorporate with a poblano it doesn't take much a little goes a long way.
I’m not sure. If I was going to grind chicken wings I would want the model with more horsepower. I would imagine if you are grinding wings, the blade would probably need to be sharpened often. You might want to look into a more commercial use model.
William!! Such an easy but necessary mod. A friend brought the new pit boss 1150 and the second rack was too heavy for the magnets to hold up. We drilled two holes and installed bolts with nuts.
wow that was a complex sausage prep my friend i would probably be shaking from nervous anticipation trying to perform that task. my mouth was watering the whole time. what you did to that chicken has inspired me to attempt that technique to pork ribs. i think i will try marinading in stubbs sweet heat and then dusting with famous daves as they go to the grill. absolutely amazing. wow
Thanks for the video. I was about to buy a new one and you saved me cash. Mine has been like this since i bought it...worked great at first than realized the pellets were going inside the hole for the hot rod Thank you so much.
@@emanuelwilliams2300 After adding a cup of water to the tomatoes drain the water off and crush the tomatoes in to a sludge. Once the tomatoes are heated in the pan for a couple minutes add the water back in.
Looks delicious! Love your quick and simple videos. By chance have you ever tried a kamado style grill? I got an Austin xl last year after watching your videos and then got a kamado Joe II on a killer deal locally and love using both.
Lee!! The link for the diffuser comes and goes on eBay. I watch for it and post for people who have asked about it. I haven’t seen it in a while. They have diffusers that don’t slide available. If let you know if it comes available.
Excellent mods !! Just bought my 2nd Austin XL. First one made its way to deer camp so I picked up the Austin Onyx series for the house. My original came with a factory front shelf, but now they are after purchase orders from Pit Boss or Amazon.
Christopher, this diffuser comes and goes on eBay. There are others but don’t have the ability to attach a rod. I check to see if it’s available from time to time and try to let everyone that’s asked know.
Lookin' like a hero there! And i am sure they will improve next time you make them - reminds me of pizza rolls i used to love. I havent had the chance to try the Colorado Gold but the color on those thighs was amazing.
Thank you! I purchased the diffuser on eBay. Since then the link has come and gone several times. I check periodically and let everyone that’s asked about it. It definitely helped control the temperatures. There are several diffusers available but they aren’t able to be connected to a rod to slide out of the way to be able to sear without manually moving them.
