Illumination through reflection, compassion and sacred connections. Welcome to my RU-vid channel, I am so honoured to share this space with you! With decades of experience in divination, I use various methods including Runes, Tarot, Oracle, Curios, Candles, and Coins to hold space for insight and healing. As a Priestess of the Mt Shasta Temple and a practising Folk Witch and Shamanic Healer, I work closely with the Ancestors and Kali-Ma. I hold degrees in Graphic Design, Typography, and Traditional Penmanship, and run a crafts studio where I create spiritually-inspired artwork and jewellery and host workshops. On this channel, you'll find videos exploring tarot, books, and spiritual practices. I offer no ill will and welcome none in return.
The Angels and Ancestors deck is a tough one. I wanted to get it as I thought it would be about First Nation representation like the front cover suggests. I was surprised to find such a mix of spiritual figures from different cultures. At first I thought, ok Mr. Gray, pick a lane please. But then I thought he perhaps wanted to represent the spiritual people that are present in every culture, whatever the religion, time, race or region in the world. In the sense that every culture has a warrior, an elder, ancestors, a high priest or shaman equivalent, spirits of the land or elementals, etc. Still unsure if I will buy the deck.
Hey I also couldn't connect to the light seers tarot and the muse tarot. The other decks you show, I never saw them before, but I completely agree with the vibes you were getting from all of them!!
I know how you feel. It’s so easy to collect decks but not as easy to use them. I could never get into reading with the Dame Darcy mermaid tarot even though I love the artwork. You made some great decisions
Hello lovely, I backed it with vinyl and trimmed it. It was a task but it saved the deck from its bad state (that it came in). I talk about my mods in this video if you want to know more…. #DeckMod // Saving My Decks and Other Ramblings ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zAR0ZIVAt_I.html
I also trimmed my Tantric Dakini and it's much nicer to look at in a spread that way. I love that it immediately said, "I'm your daddy," for you. That Arnold card was one of the first readings I got from it as well, but with way less significance than you have with it, ofc. The Taro as Colour was originally an art exhibit that was turned into a usable deck after the fact, so yeah, the signatures make slightly more sense that way. Still ugly and annoying, though. I'm going to have to watch your Taro as Colour deep-dive before I pull my copy back out. I recommend pairing a poignant oracle with that one to make it make faster sense. I like to use it with archetype decks specifically, but it's still a tough reader. And also, my deck stopped smelling like roses after about a month, but the box still smells faintly. Still finishing the video but I wanted to comment before I forgot. New subscriber here, pleased as punch to have found your channel.
@@RoaenHere I have moments with the Taro of Color and then it gets put back on the holiday shelf again. Using it with archetype oracles is interesting though! I will give it a go. Looking forward to your video on it as a regular user. I haven’t come across many that frequently refer to it to be honest, so I am interested in your take. Thanks so much for your support and reflections. xxx
Maybe you need to explore your fears more with the Zombie tarot. I never thought I would like a deck like that but I have to say it’s in my top 5 favorite decks. I find it kind of funny in some ways. The Hermit is a card I pulled one day and it was so true. I needed to step away from all the people around me taking my energy. That card in very direct terms shows that ❤
@@aliceglass6141 Yes I know what you mean, I do enjoy the meanings! I have explored it a few times but I’ve gotten to the age now where I’m no longer willing to fight with my instinct xxx
I think the art was very intentional for each tarot card… it reflects the scales (king, queen, prince, princess) like Thoth, RWS and the Golden Dawn Tarot do to a certain extent.
Totally frustrating, my fixation is the Oracle of Delphi and the Majestic Earth and I have come to terms with the fact that they are never gonna happen for me now. But then perhaps it’s for the best x I don’t use this deck as much as I’d like but I don’t think I will ever get rid of it because it is so beautiful and I hope one day it will call to me x
Those signatures have thrown me off the deck even though I really do like the deck. The way you described the cards was great, I saw a lot of animals and plants in the cards. They did invoke feelings in me. I’ve got say, the Thoth titles are so serious and somewhat foreboding. I wanted the deck for a Thoth study but I’m not sure how I can reconcile with the signatures in each card. I hate them. And the cups suit is a bit (well the minors in general with the exception of the court cards) are rather tame and boring?
And as a painter myself, I’m so distracted by that monogram. I often sign things in the back if my tiny monogram distracts. It’s about the art, not about me. It really doesn’t belong on a tarot deck for sure. The box, the book-all speak to who the artist is.
Thanks for this. Someone else said how destracting the signature is. There is a book which goes through the paintings and there is about a page and a half of writing on it, but it is sold out, who knows if there will be another print run. It was also £50 as its a hard back art book. It was really helpfull to see the cards layed out progressively, gave a better picture of the structure. I think this is definately a deck that will take some working with! Let us know how it goes. Caroline, UK.
You have such a pleasant voice! It's great timing that the RU-vid algorithm lead me to discover your channel today! Thank you for taking the time to show the artwork of the Oak, Ash and Thorn Tarot cards! Cheers! 👏👏👏
