There was ample room behind the truck. The Prius should have slowed and moved over rather than try to be ahead. The truck was a douche for speeding up to keep them from getting over. They both suck at driving.
The problem was the Prius driver wasn't going to be happy until he got ahead of someone, the proper thing eould hsve been for him/her to pull in behind the truck. Thus mentality of needing to be ahead is dangerous.
Why is it always when somebody has enough room and is signaling? Some ashole wants to come up and block them. That car had Plenty of room for exactly what it was trying to do.
I drive a car and i always speed past semis for that reason. If they see a cop or a car pulled over on the shoulder, theyll ALWAYS try and force their way to the middle lane to avoid any risk of collision with the car on the side of the road... but sometimes risks hitting the other cars going 70 mph right next to it
you see the car getting close to the one in front of him, so you know he is going to switch lanes. You either remain at constant speed and let him get in front of you (keeping a safe distance,braking if you must) or switch lanes and move to the left for a couple of seconds to avoid getting close to him. If you choose to accelerate (like you did in this video) then make it sooner and faster
I mean wrong is a strong word I would just suggest not being near people switching lanes any way they want and if you’re going to play the “speed up slow down “ game… just don’t lol

You did speed up when he passed you, and then you didn't slow down when he started cutting over whether he was in the right or wrong always keep yourself safe.
Not technically in the wrong but you definitely sped up seeing he would want to switch. I’d say make that decision faster just to make it safer for you. People often don’t even pay attention and switch lanes so late, I wouldn’t risk waiting to find out
@@whelmanlandry where do you see him crossing? It’s legal to ride the white line after all this is California..where lane splitting is legal. Also riding the shoulder is dumb, there’s where all the rocks and debris ends up and you end up with flats
@@phatnum17 . Excuse me. In Michigan it an impoundable offense It’s up to the officer . I still think it’s a bad idea . Too easy to get zapped . Somebody drops a roach and wham .
@@stev838 thousands of riders do it safely every day, helps when most motorist in CA expect motorcycles to zip by, in fact the only person to hit me while I was riding in the HOV lane was someone from Illinois.
