Affairs are secretive, exciting, and the sneaking to see, to call, to spend time with someone who is just different from day to day routine. But once it is exposed, out for all to see, the fun of what it was vanishes. It either ends, or becomes another routine. Rarely do relationships that begin as affairs last.
That's why she shouldn't have told her husband. Tell him only when she wants to leave him. But the mother in-law was wise not to let that happen. Maybe she was strong enough to keep it from happening in the future.
George Pepperd was gorgous when he was younger - in later years he was still a handsome man but something shone from within him that made me think he wasnt such a nice guy
Proud to say I have been married 59 yrs and never once cheated nor wanted too! My hubby is my best friend and what a lover! We spent lots of time together……We simply enjoy each other’s company! ❤
Women who have EVERYTHING want MORE! She had a Loving husband, a caring husband, but she wanted Fun. She was wrong, because she hurt people that loved her - and that Guy was SO WRONG!! I guess this was the decade where Movies were encouraging people to get divorced.....
Affairs almost always end in more than heartbreak. They destroy families, children, friendships, jobs and inner peace. To the married: don't do it. To the single: don't consider it. God bless!!!🙏🏼
This was a beautiful romantic movie and Lee Remick and George Peppard made it extra special.I know she made a mistake here by letting it go too far with her lover at the expense of her husband and her family but this sort of thing happens.Good cast and well acted.❤
Didn’t seem like a marriage that was ripe for an affair. Wouldn’t think that motorcycle would have started right up after sitting for 14 year. As soon as the “I love you both” that would have been it for me.
She had a good husband,a good family..i would have understand it if her husband was bad..i don't get it...at least she was honestly enought to tell him😕..but she's a really selfish woman!!!
Why do they use the words lovers when there is cheating going on. Love? Really? What about desire. What about sexual interest? What about cheaters? I don't know why the filamentistry chooses the word love so often. I'm sure every married couple has said to one another I love you. Yeah there is a 50% divorce rate. Love? Really?
Always loved this song but never really knew it came from a movie. My aunts used to sing it all the time. George and Lee were great but I really don’t want to romanticize cheating.
Great movie, loved 💕 the song, so glad she went back to her husband, they seemed to had a very good relationship before she told him about the other guy, she should've never been involved with, marriage is a very solid and powerful thing, if it's met to be, then nothing in the world could ever destroy it, 😍❤️ the ending.
So far, I'm having trouble liking this movie, and I love Lee Remick and George Peppard, not to mention that the music is awful including the arrangement of Torn Between Two Lovers. I hope it gets better.
When a married man with children falls in love with another woman, he wastes no time leaving his family for his purely selfish needs, not thinking of what it will do to his children and the hardship he's created for them to live through for many years.
Those who stray often find themselves unhappy with themselves, and their situation. Hence, the affair comes at their vulnerable moment. So spouses need to be sensitive to each other's needs, because others can easily shake your boat at a vulnerable point.
The romanticizing of doing this to peoples lives is disgusting. The 60s and 70s were filled with this mindset, and it destroyed the nuclear family. As a kid in the 70s, I remember people having divorce parties...it was revolting to me, even then.
I grew up during this time, and I never heard of a "divorce party" until I read this comment in 2024. People yelling about something destroying the family...People do it to themselves.
@@bluecollarlit ... I was 3 yrs old in 1974, when my parents divorced. You are saying I did it to myself? We now have over 70% divorce rates... You think that's just a few select outliers, doing it to themselves?
I saw a movie and the community had key parties so basically they were swinging...that's been around forever... I will tell you this- if you're in a happy, grounded, secure marriage and you have real love for each other, these kinds of things don't generally happen
